I have to disagree with the CBs playing well. We've seen this a few times: they look okay when they're next to the action, but the problems are happening away from the ball a lot of the time...they're all over the place with unnerving regularity. The Yoshida/Stephens pairing simply is not good enough on a consistent basis for this level.
I'm seriously interested; you educated ref adjudicators out there? how did he perform? I thought he eagerly judged it as a feisty derby, which it never was & over officiated, which didn't help us (Howe got that right & CP wrong - Claise would have surely helped). I think he took an easy option. Fair?
One great save from Boruc and an outside of the post was pretty much all we had to show for our 60 minutes of superiority. We were creating one or two almost promising situations but not really chances in my opinion. In the end we were obviously lucky to get a point. Much as I dislike him Wilshire was superb and ran the game after coming on.
who were our best 2 players today? Rodriguez first half? Romeu overall? The only first teamers not called up for Internationals?
Romeu was superb. As he is for every game. Rodriguez was decent in first half but he is no the player where you'd get excited that something can happen. Manolo does and if he played today I think we'd be home and dry by half time.
Let's ship everyone out, there will be times when your main striker is injured and you need someone to come in Jay and Shane can do that, we are not that team that can have a £20m striker sat on the bench
my Italians not good but I'm sure he said "you wouldn't have been offside" and " you'd have buried that" a couple of times
What the hell happened between Bertrand and Redmond on international duty? The two of them spent the game arguing with each other, ignoring each other, gesturing towards each other, until Redmond was switched over to the right and away from Ryan. As expected, we badly missed Gabby (and Austin). Back to where we were for December and January. I felt a little sorry for Redmond and Tadic, who were trying. We dominated both possession and, in my view, the game. But without an attack or a defence, we could easily have lost that 3-0 or 4-0. Another totally anonymous game for Davis - the sooner he goes, the better. And what on earth has happened to Boufal? I'm hoping it's just linked to his injury, and him not being back to 100% yet.
Has Arters pen landed at Dean Court yet? ****e 2nd half from us, got away with it really. Will speak in more detail later/tomorrow. Cracking atmosphere, good banter between fans. Think I'm starting to prefer block 1 to Northam. The less said about after the game the better probably. I know there's dickheads on both sides but there's a chunk of Bournemouth fans who are absolute ****s. Top.marks espescially to the bloke in his 30s who decided to abuse a young Saints fan of about 7/8 who then cried his eyes out. Absolute thundercunt
and I warn you all, Jay had a horrible injury, he's taking time to get back his mojo, get rid of him this summer and he'll score 20 for someone else next year!
Davis did nothing except anticipate a possible cock-up in defence, run back and make a goal line clearance saving us 2 points (well I think it was him)
I want nothing more than Jay to be the player he was. Whenever he has scored this season I have been so happy for him.
