"BBC News are reporting that flights in and out of Southampton airport are being disrupted by Harry Arter's penalty." I thought this was about fighting at Southampton airport before my old eyes adjusted.
Glad someone watched the same game as me, the pundits said he had s very good half with good movement, I thought he played well and probably should have stayed on
Very, very big next two matches, because we're going to have a brutally difficult stretch thereafter, and the table from 9th to 16th is awfully compressed. Four points needed from Palace and WBA to feel comfortable in the top 10 or 12.
We played better up to 60 mins mainly because we have better players. Not much flow, not surprisingly. Perhaps Puel was right to give Rodriguez a chance. But he probably wouldn't be right to give him another one. I'd have kept Prowse on though, unless he was more tired than I noticed. Seeing Caceres would be good particularly if we are thinking of signing him for next season. Tell him to stand near Benteke. Hopefully Hojberg is near the front of the queue for game time, but I suspect not. One person on the pitch is in serious relegation danger. Goodbye Jon Moss.
That can happen but I don't think it's relevant today. For a start Bournemouth have also had 2 weeks off and more importantly our performance today was very similar to our performances all season. Without Gabbiadini we struggle to score goals. That's been the case all season. Without van Dijk (and Fonte) our defence is prone to making mistakes and looking chaotic and disorganised. That's been the case since January.
Hes got away with it so far. There must be other refs around or are there only 20 premier league refs at most.
I'm afraid Puel got the game tactics wrong for this game especially after he brought Long and Boufal on. Bournemouth should clearly have won this game. Yoshida for what ever reason kept turning into groups of the opposition rather than clearing the ball causing us to lose possession in dangerous areas frequently. They came not to lose rather than to win this game although as previously said they should have gone back to Bournemouth with the points. Saints were very rusty that's for sure, a bit unlucky re the penalty as there were infringements well before the penalty that should have been blown for. I am also of the opinion that Saints should have had one themselves. Still I guess we didn't lose..........but two points lost. For Saints a poor result.........
Last season no team did the 'league double' over us, this season if we fail to win at Middlesbrough (surely that's rubber-stamped 0-0) we will won't have done the 'league double' over anyone. That makes me sigh.
i don't know how people can say we should have lost that. Even at the end of the game when Bournemouth were clearly on top we were creating chances. which is far more than Bournemouth could say in the first half. Yes, the 'best' chances fell to Bournemouth but there were a lot of chances we should have scored too. At worst that was an even game.
Defensively we were very poor today but it was not the centre backs that were the issue. They both played well - Stephens especially. We just played too deep. The Bertrand / Redmond 'understanding' was also awol today though in general Redmond was class today. Overall Bompey deserved the three points for the second half performance IMO
