Christmas morning when you were or have kids, your wedding day, both mine and the start of the EPL, big days that give that excited, nervous, gut wrenching feeling.

After what seems like an eternity its finaly here and for s Sunderland fans it cant get much better, or worse, depending on what the next 7 days bring.

Today its Liverpool, King Kenny, Downing, Henderson, Adam and that full back from, I forget where. Add in the odd pony tail from Newcastle and a striker to rival KK himself and its good.

But it gets better, we have our own footballing revolution with a new team to look at, admire and cheer on, not forgetting that Gyan chap and our new striker who other teams seem to have forgotten about, wor Sess.

You would think that this would be enough for any self respecting fan to enjoy but no, not us, not Sunderland.

We no sooner ear the closing music on MOTD when thoughts turn to our first home game, always a big occasion but this year its bigger than most. Newcastle, or whats left of them, come to town.

We look forward to Ba and a couple of French blokes called, anyone know?

Will our season be defined over the next 7 days, of course not but it will give us a clue.

Get ready boys and girls the magic carpet ride is off, or will it again be a proggy mat by the fire?

It'll be MAGIC Syd, we're in a much better position than last season for sure and while i'm not really expecting much out of todays game, a draw would be good, i'm fully expecting us to get 3 points next week.

After last season Brucey will have them fired up for sure, he wants revenge as much as we do and now we have the squad to take it. Trust me Syd, you'll see that i'm right.

Watched them on TV midweek against Valencia and i remeber thinking "****" if they play like that against us we'll struggle, they were pretty good and even Jordan looked canny as well but on the day if we play on top form then we're more than a match for anyone.

I just feel a draw would be a good result today.
