We all know who to blame if that happens, don't jynx it. I do agree we need another striker, but like others have said, possibly Morgan can step up if needed? Kenny seems keen to chuck youth players in when needed.
As much as ppl don't like / rate Ngog (myself included!) he does get goals, both in the premiership and europe. @ MFG about Lucas: touche! I wasn't a hater of lucas when he first arrived but I did doubt his potential - he kept giving the ball away and I got very frustrated with him. But I always said we should give him time and I'm very glad he proved me wrong! Now one of my favourites players. Will Ngog be the same? I doubt it...but then I did doubt Lucas...what do I know!! <Augh>
Think you must still be asleep! " If Arsenal lose Van Persie they have a multitude of unused youth strikers." Well where were all the multitude last season? "If Chelsea lose those 3 they have Torres". Unless he dramatically improves from his performances for them last season, he's not going to terrify any defences. "If Utd lose those 3 then they have Welbeck." You may have a point there.
Arsenal have Van Persie, Chamakh, Gervinho, Bendtner and Vela. Man Utd have Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov, Welbeck and Owen. Chelsea have Drogba, Anelka, Sturridge and Torres. Being honest they have much better depth than we do upfront. Man City also have loads of options with Dzeko, Tevez, Aguero and Balotelli.
Well Arsenal don't need strikers, they're happy to just watch the ball into the back of the net. Torres or Kalou then for Chelsea, as Kalou wasn't mentioned. Don't forget Man City have a hell of a lot of strikers on hand too, just seems we're 1 striker short of a full squad if we sell Ngog.
Some rumours creeping up about Higuain, don't think it's reliable though and Ballague has already played it down.
Rodellega (spelling?) was linked a while ago. I'd be happy with him. I think Bolton want a striker in the vein of Sturridge after Chelsea decided to keep him. N'Gog is at least similar style (but lacks the strength of Sturridge).
I think Liverpool's problem is that none of their strikers are natural goalscorers. They are likely to get 15-20 goals a season but you really need a 25-30 goal a season striker.
Kuyt is a natural goalscorer, same with Carroll. Before coming to Liverpool Kuyt was putting them away for fun, but then slowly got turned into a winger. Carroll got 11 in the league before we bought him, if we can recreate that or even build upon it then we'll have a 25-30 goal a season striker in a season or two.
You need a 25-30 goals a season strike€r. Man United won the league without a 25-30 striker. You need a number of players that get goals...not just one. Berbatov scored 20 league goals, Rooney scored 11 and Hernandez scored 13. If we could get 20 out of Suarez,15 out of Carroll and 12 out of Kuyt plus goals from midfield, Gerrard is still capable of banging in 10 then we'll be fine.
I said in another thread that a bid of £12M and N'Gog would be a good deal! It would be an excellent addition to the team and I would be delighted with our transfer business if this came off.
