JWP Man of the Match with a goal from open play and a free kick assist for Jay Rod. Tadić sealed it with a penalty late on. No, I'd completely forgotten all that and had to look up the match report.
Not going to make the Pub (too far from where we park for this one) I don't think, but am going to the 'Dell Sports Bar' round on the Kingsland stand - for those who haven't been there, first come first served, all you need is a season ticket/membership/match day ticket and they let you in (free). they do hot food and alcohol - been there a few times and really good. The beauty of it for me is that it is part of the stadium, so no long walk to the ground . Another bonus is my brother is away so just my old man and niece with me
Hate the bloody place. Standing in the rain on days out as a kid is a strong memory. Then some woman from there broke my heart. 1957 it was. I was 15 at the time and I struggled to recover*. She was 16, the little vixen. Course these days I could discover that she'd married a smack head, had 16 kids and 14 of them were serving time. I'd be happy then. As it is I have to live with the thought that she might have married a millionaire and now lives in the Bahamas. *I recovered more quickly than I did/have from the 1984 Semi-Final, of course. Put things into perspective.
Sun always shone when I went to Bournemouth as a kid. And the Knickerbocker Glories in Rocco Fortes were 3 feet deep.
So really it's little to do with the place, but more to do with a 16 year old girl? It just happened to be Bournemouth. Good job she didn't break your heart in Liverpool or Southampton.
People may wonder why I am a Saints fan, when I am Bournemouth born and bred. Well in 1969 when I was born, Bournemouth was in Hampshire - the boundaries changed in 1971. So I am Hampshire born & bred, and support the nearest local Hampshire team (Actually, whilst a good story it is bullshit. Bournemouth have always been **** until recently so when I started watching Footie in the late 70s, Saints were the only one for me )
Alas not always, I used to work at The Carlton Hotel, and a few of us thought it would be fun to go surfing on Christmas day just wearing our boxers and rather the worse for beer (hsb if memory serves), it was so cold. I got struck on the head by my board as my hands were useless with cold, I thought it was water dripping from my hairline but it was blood but my head was too numb with cold. It seemed like a fun thing to do at the time
Eddie Howe manager of the month reward is about to pay out.....big time. 3-0 Saints, no doubting. (look at me, all brave till tomorrow, )
Bloody hell. I had my heart smashed by a girl in Southampton ..... twice (I'm a sucker for punishment) and STILL I support the Saints. So, no excuse, I say ........
http://www.shoot.co.uk/premier-league-tadic-v-king/ Comparison of Tadic v King. King is considerably cheaper but has scored 11 goals to Tadic's 3.
