Anything which suggests even slightly, that there is a remote possibility that something connected to Hull is not the pinnacle of perfection is controversial to some people.
No,you got me there, Chazz. Missed that little word Middlesbrough underneath ours when I saw the league tables, what with it being shorter than ours.
I will leave the population stats to others who have majored in this tricky discipline. However I will stretch my neck out with a quantitative guesstimate in that this city and its surrounds possesses one of the highest instances of tinpot, negative, fickle, deluded, little fish in a big pool, armchair fans of the Top5 know nowt ****s in the country. These letters prove that, as they echo the type of ****e we used to hear 20 years ago as the above mentioned quisling loser ****s sought to justify their cowardly lazy stance by rubbishing THEIR OWN LOCAL club. Old habits die hard for these ****ed up ****s, and they dress it up as witty humour or banter, but deep down they hate City because of what we have become and they backed the wrong horse all those years a go when they opted for Arthur Bunting, Don Revie. King Kenny etc The local paper is staffed by young snowflake arseholes who seek to put the three local sports outfits at the same level, when one is known and covered globally, another is a big hitter down the M62 on a Sunday and the third one bullies rust belt minor towns as it seeks to regain its place among Wakey, Widnes and Cas. Flat track bullies throwing their weight around against pit villages, mill towns and rust belt dumps in front of 4 figure crowds. Yet this local paper reckons we're all competing in similar circumstances, and dishonestly makes no allowance for that in its coverage in terms of hyperbole and column space. Which is why you get deluded oxygen-robbing ****ers writing letters and the local rag humouring them by printing them.
Post of the day and my thoughts too. We used to get this sort of rubbishing in the local rag and the wind up merchants on local radio when we were scraping around at the bottom of the football ladder. Whilst the two RL clubs were compared in statue to the giants in the football world. HKR were even labelled as the 'Man Utd of RL' The derby was compared to Celtic v Rangers, City v Utd or Liverpool v Everton when in reality it wasn't even on par with Exeter v Plymouth. But that didn't matter to the local sports editors who continually blew smoke up the arses of the M62 minority sport. When we finally reached the top table the ridiculing stopped for a while then we heard that people only go to the KC to watch the opposition and our managers were rubbished as were our signings and so on. It is relentless. Made worse by the fact that all the time we should have been building up our fanbase and creating a legacy to last a lifetime we continually shot ourselves in the foot at Board level and give these toerags and doubters all the ammunition they need. And the local media lap it up with no reply from us.
Being going on since the 1970s. There was a chance to stop a lot of this nonsense and make the inadequates who support clubs from other cities, especially those who profess how proud they are of their local rugby club, keep quiet but our owners have ****ed that up. Now, due to their ludicrous pricing strategy we will lose another generation of fans whilst the likes of Sunderland, Huddersfield, Bradford and others are building the fanbase of the future. For myself, an OAP who would get concessions elsewhere, to take 2 of my grandkids in the majority of seats in the East Stand would be £1,400. Who in their right mind thinks that is a way of growing the support? At just under £1,000 it isn't exactly a bargain elsewhere for anyone with a limited budget.
God I hate that man. Little Welsh ****er that divides people. Why the **** as license payers are we subjected to this loathsome little individual
