I think Gallas is talking Premier League titles.
    Not 1st Division titles.
Though the distinction is neither here nor there, they are all English titles.
Historically Arsenal are the biggest side in London.

That is changing.....we are catching them up on trophies won and are London's Only European Champions.
Our stadium will soon be the same size, we have more fans worldwide (according to recent polls, though I am not sure how they work this out), and our turnovers are pretty much the same, except ours will get much bigger when the new stadium is up and running.

In whatever terms you look at it now, Chelsea are on par, unless you count Pre World War 2 trophy counts.
The main difference is, Chelsea are on an upward trajectory, and Arsenal, right now, are heading down.

Not since we've won it 5 times. <whistle>

  9. Which team has won it most recently, Pix?

Also, when did Arsenal win the CL?

I'm not wumming; I'm merely curious to see how you can dig yourself out of this wum ****-up.

When did Spuddingham Totterers win it last? Let's not talk about the UCL. <laugh>

  12. What with Wenger claiming that Sanchez "is going nowhere," I wondering if the lad will run down his contract and leave "on a free"?

Unlikely but possible, he is on record I think of saying he wants to stay in London. If it's not Arsenal there's only one other club who happen to be the current London daddies who A) could afford him. B) afford his wages.

Should it happen and we get our other targets on board too you will have to be content with Uropey Cup football for a decade.<ok>

  14. Hm. Not sure about that, Mr Skids.

I see Spurs being the Daddies of North London for quite some time, so I think it's going to be Chelsea, us, and City vying for the title, each season, with 'Pool, United, and Arsenal (in that order) vying for the remaining 4th spot.

Maybe the old boy has cracked, alzheimers or something, thinks he is in 2002, that might be why he still thinks Arsenal are the best team in London

  17. Arsenal v City

How do you lads see this one going?

I'm hoping that Arsenal manage to scrape a draw - I think that would be the best result for Spurs.

However, what with Arsenal being in a complete shambles, at the moment, I won't hold my breath.

City to beat Arsenal and then Chelsea to beat City (can't see us catching Chelsea, so Pool, Utd, Arsenal and City are my focus now).

Wasn't Daddies of London last year and not this year too..... could you see such a talent ever playing for a small unambitious club where finishing 3rd or worse and not regular UCL football could tempt such a player?

  20. Agreed.

I don't mind Arsenal and City sharing the points, though.

But, like you, I'm struggling to see how Arsenal will get anything out of the game. I expect the pressure to increase on Arsenal's board to grow a pair and sack Wenger, if the old fool won't do the decent thing and resign.
