So, going back to the question you keep avoiding. How do you suppose Wenger 'fluked' the title that season, seeing as Arsenal didn't lose a single league game ?
Hmmm weren't you touting Spurs as the "New Invincibles" at the start of the season based on league results... even though they were getting dry humped in group stage Champions League games? ... how did that work?
Apparently now the premier league is much harder these days the Gimp thought if Spuddingham Totterers went 18 games undefeated they'd be the new invincibles. Then they came to Stamford Bridge.......the rest is history
He makes a good point though Matthew ...if Bayern Munich had turned their overall dominance in the final of the Champions League into goals then United's very late goals would have likely been irrelevant ... instead United won the UCL ... in years to come, future footie fans will only know that United won that final ... not that they were incredibly lucky to do so ... that's footie...
Just making the point matth that ifs and buts count for nothing. If bergkamp had scored that pen in the FA cup semi against Utd, then you wouldn't have done the treble. But he didn't, so it makes no difference. Same with Van Nistelroy, he missed the pen, the game was drawn, Arsenal won the league without losing a single game.
Personally I'm finding it rather amusing that Arsene Wenger has legions of paparazzi tearing their hair out with his quietly smiling, gallic shrugging, non-commital responses to the rabid questioning on his 'future'
I agree This circus is excellent. I am hoping upon hope he stays. All this whole fiasco is doing, is weakening Arsenals standing in World football. As long as the club doesn't disband, due to financial issues (which it won't because they are minted) then long may this continue. I dont like seeing clubs go into administration, but I surely love it when our rivals have a heap of **** poured onto them. I am not sure sacking Wenger will solve ALL their issues. Certainly some of them, possibly, depending on his replacement. But there needs to be fundamental changes made at that club otherwise they will just slip further and further behind.
Arsenal getting a new manager in could see them competitive again or could see them slump like a post Fergie United. Personally I don't think it's worth the risk. Wenger should stay and keep Arsenal at the level they are, annually disappointing the gooners in around February year after year
