I drive past this every day going to work and it has really taken shape quickly, you can see progress each day.

Maybe it's just me but it looks really narrow and deep. On the fly-through video on HDM last week it looked like that as well. Not sure if this is a normal design for arenas or not?

Barriers now being removed at the new King Edward Square (sadly, the bloke who takes photos for HCC still hasn't learned to stand up straight)...

No, it's a massive square with nothing in it at the moment, they're hoping that someone will get some outside dining going on and it will look like this...

I'm worried about the people of that photograph* that don't have shadows. I think we might have found proof of ghosts.

    *I know it's a mock-up, whoosh hunters.

The trees are blowing, despite there clearly being no atmosphere.

A square like that on the continent would be ringed with places offering drinking and eating. And they wouldn't be shut by 5.30pm. Do you think we have any chance of seeing something similar? Or will licensing, health and safety and numerous other obstacles prevent it?

The police objected to the application to have 10 tables and 40 chairs outside Head Of Steam in Trinity Square, the Council were actually keen for it to go ahead, though I think that one was mainly down to the tables and chairs blocking the historic archway into Prince Street (the application for a Cafe Pavement License was supposed to be reviewed by the Council last year, but I can't find any details on any outcome).

    Queens Gardens

Edit - Actually it's not located anywhere yet, I think they're just about to install it, which is probably why it's on Look North tonight.

We have Telstar, Ebenezer Morley and Moderation. Ideal venues for those seeking late afternoon refreshment in a pleasing and sophisticated ambience.

Also a roof terrace opening shortly in Humber Street and another opening at the new hotel on Ferensway.
