Sure you will all be excited to wake up to the Gary Cahill gossip. Some reputable sources saying £12mil plus NGog bid has gone in and it's gathering plenty of momentum.

Firstly, if and when it happens, i may die from how much we've been spoiled this transfer window. Secondly, i stuck a few quid on him with SkyBet a week ago when he was 8/1 to join us, so this could be a two-way jizz-fest for me.

This could be incredible! Also if NGog goes we may even get in a better back-up striker. Unbelievable Jeff!

What's this reputable source? I thought Arsenal were sure to nab him? £12 million + Ngog (~£5 milion) = ~17 million - not too bad, really. I would probably prefer Scott Dann or Shawcross (too pricey, though?) for potential - but wouldn't be disappointed if this rumour was true. Although, we would then desperately need a back up striker ... really badly! A couple of striker injuries and we'd be up the firth of feculence without a visible means of propulsion. But no point speculating until the deed is done, the bird is in hand and morbidly-obese chorine has completed her aria.

I should be asleep now but too excited! I need to get a life. Seriously!

haha like Kenny said it's like Christmas.

    ESPN Dale Johnson
I can confirm that Liverpool have offered £12m, plus David Ngog, for Bolton's Gary Cahill. Never interested in Dann. #lfc #bwfc

Since been confirmed by Richard Buxton who's written an article for the click website, as well as several others.

Was initially broken by some guys on Twitter (wait hold fire!) such as MiguelCastrolfc who writes for ThisIsAnfield and has been spot on and Dom Campbell who runs Kopsource. Not your typical Twitter 'In The Know'. There's a few such people who i've whittled down from the Twitter bull****ters that are usually spot on and everyone is singing the same tune.

If this happens i'm going to personally hunt down John W Henry... and tell him that he is a very nice man. What a difference a year makes. I hope Hicks & Gillette are watching

Awesome news if true , some spending going on . But if Ngog goes, only left with 3 experienced strikers?

I hope Hicks & Gillette haven't got a clue what's happening because they can't afford a newspaper and they've had to sell the telly at cash converters <ok>

    I am still asleep?

We're just splashing the cash this window and I love it. If Ngog goes I can honestly say I won't be disappointed, but I'll be slightly concerned about backup as our only 3 strikers would be: Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt. It's not impossible that all 3 could get injured at any one time; so are we going to use a youth striker like say Morgan or Pacheco? Or perhaps even put Gerrard up as striker as he's played the second striker often enough.

Cahill will truly sort out our defensive frailties, can you imagine a partnership of Agger and Cahill? Truly a solid defence.

Everything I've heard says Kenny won't let NGog go until he's got a replacement lined up. What quality striker doesn't want to be 3rd striker on the bench?

    NGog = Lucas - 3 years.

    Hands up, the ex-Lucas haters.

But for now those 3 are more than enough, you could say all the top teams have the same issue. If Utd get injuries to Rooney, Hernandez & Berba who have they got? If Chelsea loose Drogba, Anelka and Sturridge who have they got? Arsenal, if they loose Van Persie who have they got? Prorities at the moment are not back-up strikers, Connor Wickman would have been brilliant but I think Kenny was probably thinking next season is a time to look at that area

I wouldn't mind seeing Morgan come into the senior squad this season. Talking of strikers...Has that mexican Bueno come in for a trial?

If Utd lose those 3 then they have Welbeck. If Chelsea lose those 3 they have Torres. If Arsenal lose Van Persie they have a multitude of unused youth strikers.

I'm just thinking that we'll be expecting Suarez and Carroll to play every game and we don't have a backup plan for example if Suarez gets injured.
