I hope I can make this thread tonight. Mrs NZ is in Auckland with Miss NZ who usually wakes me during the night. I enjoy all your comments as i don't have the radio link. Thank you so much Ak for this thread.

Will be interesting to see how the pressure tells on this one. Clearly Sean can survive a loss but with the fixtures to come it would put him on the back foot. Hope I'm wrong but I'd bite yer hand off for a point and forget the game.

I'm still in spain so will be going to see Sporting Gigon vs Genoa tonight with a 21:30 kick off. Glad we don't have those at the Vic or I'd never get home.

    Enjoy one and all

Had the option to hopefully follow the game here (and I echo NZ's sentiments) or go to Cally thistle V Rangers!

    Will hopefully be here :)

KC, enjoy Gigon (pron Hihon) tonight - I have found Spanish football very contradictory and it probably doesn't help that they don't have a league which is strong in depth .

As for today, I see it as an opportunity to get a win on the board which is always crucial in a successful campaign. You can disregard Derby's midweek defeat to Shrewsbury, we all know League Cup ties are not given the credence they should.

I would love a super smooth 2-0 win, but know it cannot be that simple.

I think it will be 3-2, go 2 goals up again either 2-0 or 3-1 and Derby get a late goal or two making it a tenses 5 mins added on time. If only the Games were 80 mins long like Rugby - we would walk the league.

Elixir for sure even as a mid La Liga side the atmosphere is not like the Vic. The lack of away support (you might get 20 or so students supporting the away side unless it is Real or Barca) takes a lot out of it. But equally nice to leave a game in 16C at midnight and be able to sink a beer or two and still have buses and trains to get you home.

:emoticon-0110-tongu go on let it be that simple. I'm :emoticon-0107-sweat enough already

I go to watch Apollon Limassol when I am in Cyprus and yes you are right - wear shorts, i'ts about 20c at night, plenty of transport about and the bars stay open till you go home after a few cold Keo's.

But no Hamburgers from the stall o/s or Hot chestnuts to put in your pockets in the winter and eat on the way home.

perhaps we should have a thread for games seen by 'orns in different parts of the world. And saying why we would rather be at the Vic? :emoticon-0115-inlov Always great to know where those you cheered with and went through the agony with over the years have taken their football addiction learnt on those cold and wet afternoons at the vic.

Perhaps I'll get off my rear and start one

I'm in! The new seats look lovely, the pitch looks great! But..its smaller. They've cut the width by a few feet by the look of it...
