Anyone else getting pissed off with websites and their relentless pop ups?? Time and time again you click to go onto an article and have to close down box after box of useless ****e being pedalled to you. The Chronicle is one of the worst. I literally only read their articles in safari on my phone but usually ignore them altogether as it's a right pain in the arse trying to read something which is repeatedly covered up with ****e I don't want to see. I also take a negative view of whatever brand is being plastered across my screen. Manufacturers should, IMHO rethink their whole digital media strategy as, eventually.... using pop ups may damage their brand equity.
Oh and while I'm beelin'... the Chronicle and their '5 things' bullshit get on my tits too. Here's my list of Chronicle beel.... 1- Their 5 things list 2- Lee Ryder 3- Their sucking at the teat of Fat Mike 4- Less chip paper in the smaller size 5- Their 5 things list
Its the future - live with it. What always gets me is when I am walking past a shop and I get a text message from them telling me to come in and enjoy an offer that they have. If you actually take the time to look at some of the accompanying ads you will also see some very amusing juxtapositions: Telegraph Website: “Tara Palmer-Thomkinson, the socialite, has died aged 45 after battling a brain tumour…” Accompanying ad: “10 ways to improve your brainpower” Times: “I’ll never forgive “killer” bride, says victim’s mother” Accompanying ad: “Celebrate Valentine’s for the moments that matter” (Ernest Jones jewellers). Guardian headline: “’All lives matter’ rally was always racist—and this weekend’s Trump rally proved it” The ad: “Brilliant cleaning for whites and colours” by Daz Guardian headline: “Student ‘driven from campus’ after speaking out against rape seminar” The ad: “How to make a winning first impression, sponsored by HSBC” Yahoo News headline: “Business drivers risking safety by not taking breaks” The ad: “Brilliant funeral insurance sweeping the UK” However nothing beats this one in a printed version please log in to view this image
Was that for real or photoshopped? FFS if real then the newspapers need to edit their pages better not just take money from the advertisers. That's diabolical.
I was going to add to Albert that if he stops looking at the 'llamas in lingerie' site then he might not keep getting the little pop-ups he referred to.
The worst thing about the Chronicle is how long it takes to load. I've got adblocker and it still takes forever to get their site up cos of all the **** they have on there. Got to admit, a couple of my clients have pop ups on their sites to sign up for newsletters but I always make sure that they are really easy to close and that the cookies last for a long time so they don't appear every time you visit the site.
Busy with what? Since Musty stepped in with the Prediction League there's only the Final Countdown thread to update* *last updated 18th March
Yeah but I want the old table back. Its the only slick worthwhile thing he's ever done. It sickens me to see him spiral like this. The ****.
I am stuck and unable to do any work for 48 hours while I transfer all of my hosting to a more powerful server. No point making any changes until that is finished!
You can't keep harking back to 'the good old days'. They are gone. You need to move forward. You'll end up like Fredor if you're not careful
I've got big plans for next year. Not sure if I will be able to find the time to do it yet so no point saying what they are. But basically the idea I had for self-updating tables - only turbo powered
I think the points totals are up to date. Maybe I just forgot to change the date. Not sure. Have we played since 18th March????
You've been well and truly brainwashed haven't you? Well at least the propaganda is working on some eh Nev (aka Hitler)
