To answer the OP, no Girvan was not in the army, however he does like to talk about people who were. He occasionaly trawls through "Forces Reunited" to find what details he can in his desperate search for something to embarrass someone, he has not the wit to understand that it he who is embarrassed every time he recycles his conspiracy theories on who served with whom and in which regiment.
I find nationalists of any side to be rather moronic, and to blame for nearly all of the worlds ills. They judge people on what they are rather than who they are. "oh you were born in such and such a place therefore you are obviously this type of person". A sure sign of youth or poor education/intelligence.
