Philippe Coutinho is keen to join Barcelona after the Spanish champions opened discussions over a summer deal for the Liverpool midfielder, according to reports.

Sport claim that ‘Operation Coutinho’ is currently in progress and Barcelona have held several talks with the Brazilian’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci about the possibility of a move.

The report suggests that the 24-year-old is ready to leave Anfield at the end of the season and although he has received an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, the midfielder is ‘enthusiastic’ about a potential switch to Camp Nou
