IRA was active the day before yesterday.

In the last 12 months there have been 52 bomb attacks in NI. The threat to mainland uk is severe. By the way the Police are all armed. Doesnt stop the **** happening though.

I think the best thing I've read about this today is that the ****ish actions of one ****, are far outweighed by the bravery and selflessness of so many others.

I'm not saying we'd stop this happening if we were all armed! I'm saying we'd be able to react better! Some ****s got a gun shooting randomly and the first copper on the scene has a taser? How many more die before he's put down?

I don't know what the crimes rates from one country to another are but the UK police is honestly something to cherish.

In Franc and Belgium, 2 countries I've lived in where they have guns. Whether there is more crime there, I don't know, but what I do know is that the type of crime is more severe. Robbers become armed. Petty drug dealers have guns and so on...
Now I'm not saying knife crimes are "better" but realistically less damage can be caused.

If you go to another extreme like South Africa, which I know well, that's even worse. Every ****ing person has a gun there, and the crimes there are of a real extreme nature. Not something you would want in the UK.


I think there may be a debate about increasing armed police forces in certain areas. But in no way should police in general be more armed. I've always used the UK as a shining example of policing when discussing things with Americans or French people, where cops have an absolutely terrible rep. I honestly suggest this country keeps it this way.

I understand what you're saying and in an ideal world we all want that! But we are an island so guns are hard to get into the country! But it's only a matter of time before we have someone with a gun in a shopping centre or similar? Time will tell.

 

It's not all that hard to get hold of a gun if you want one.

 

I know but we're not over run with them! And that emphasis my point that It'll happen!
