In time we will all realise Brexit was for the best. Looks at Australia. They have it sussed. We need to change.
I know. It's rare you find someone taking a balanced, considered view and talking common sense on the internet.
Only two people killed it's a none event basically I'm not saying it's not horrible but I simply don't care when strangers die, so I'm not going to pretend I do It's like being on a train and it being delayed by a woman killed on the tracks - I'm not going to be the arsehole holding his hand over his mouth in shock only to start looking at my watch after an hr later thinking " ffs how long does it take to get this dead bitch of the tracks" ? "I need my dinner"
I wonder if the relatives of the THREE people killed today consider it a non event. I find the crassness of your statement absolutely staggering in it's ignorance.
The first thing to avoid is a knee jerk reaction to this sad incident. Secondly, there is no proof capital punishment works as a deterrent to any crime. I also have problems with a crime sentence where in some way you cannot adequately say sorry when you get it wrong. Yes there are the black and white cases but there will also be many more "grey" cases. Look back at the history of capital punishment just in this country and it doesn't take too long to find many cases of miscarriage of justice. Also look at the miscarriages of justice found in cases involving the IRA in recent'ish years to see what could easily happen again. Yes impose heavier sentences but not, for me, capital punishment. Also don't over react to what has happened today. Don't make martyers of idiots and cowards. As far as deporting is concerned how do you deport someone born in this country? Don't stereotype all so called terrorists as being foreign born. Just because someone is a Muslim and/or of non Anglo Saxon ethnicity does not make them non British. Can we also stop giving these cowards a, for some, heroic title. Stop calling the group ISIS and start calling them cowards instead both on tv and in the media. For example it wasn't ISIS who carried out terrorist attacks in France but instead a group of cowards carried out sneaky, cowardly attacks on innocent people in France. The main thing is not to let a relatively rare incident dictate what we do and how we behave but for us as a country to adhere to the morals and standards which demonstrate that we are a moral, decent law abiding country which respects the rights of everyone who lives here. That may be tree hugging to some but to coin a phrase we have fought wars to get to where we are now, let's not allow a few cowards to change that.
Anyone supporting terrorism, ISIS or any other ficking bunch of cowardly nut jobs immediately gives up their rights IMHO. Ex turpi causa non oritur actio.... Res ipsa loquitur....
Here we go again! Someone talking common sense and giving well thought out, balanced arguments in a time of heightened emotions. Hang on, you're not one of these terrorist huggers are you?
A few cowards. Hmmm, well, I think you will be seeing many, many of these cowards over the next few years. Demographics is destiny my friend. I agree with you - they don't have to be Isis, or Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabbab, etc but many Muslims, throughout the world, see the Kuffar, whether he be white, black or brown as fair game. That is where we find ourselves. Also, there are sizeable parts of the Muslim community in Britain that will rarely, if ever condemn these attacks - rather say something absurd like 'This has nothing to do with Islam' or 'terrorism has no religion' or such nonsense. Their regressive ideas towards homosexuality, intolerance towards other religions and gender equality will come even more to the surface in years to come. I desperately want to be proven wrong but I don't think I will sadly.
Ah, the old "Latin phrase" argument. Throw in the Latin expression. Watch everyone dash off to Google. And then claim success. Classic.
Just helping to make it clear (or not) my first post was not actually a rant but a statement of what we are already doing to combat these folk, but done slightly in the style of a rant to mock those "what we ought to do is (cut their balls off, string them up, give them the lethal injection, etc)" rants that people tend to come with at times like these.
Not sure he hasn't just picked random legal latin phrases either. The first is about actions not being allowable in tort law if they are based on a criminal offence but they are able in criminal law whilst the second is about shifting the burden of proof in tort law. Though it's literal meaning is just that the thing speaks for itself so perhaps that's what ACS was going for. ps. No google required, it's one of the two subjects I teach
I agree, we should be intolerant to other religions on the basis of their intolerance to other religions. Can't see any problems with that at all.
Not at all, just someone who has his eyes open and see things for what they are. Just because people have a different view to you, doesn't make them wrong.
