I've said before he'd suit our style very well, he can play up front on his own and loves crosses, so Bale, VdV, Lennon and him would be quite a threat imo. Couldn;t care less about his previous, that was in different surroundings, with different issues, not relevant to us at all. The upheaval at Arsenal was borne from frustration at winning naff all...surely thats understandable! Every player is capable of a strop.
Redknapp seems to know how to get the best out of a stroppy striker, too. Kanu, Yakubu and Di Canio spring to mind. Just don't mention Boogers and Raducioiu...
I really don't care if AnyBuyer comes in and plays out of his skin, I'll still hate him. I am still stuck wondering if we are really showing the likes of Modric, Bale, Sandro, VDV etc. what the ambitions of the club are when our top signings are a free keeper and a petulant 'journeyman' striker on loan from one of our supposed rivals. If this is the best we can do, I wouldn't expect any of them to still want to be here in January, let alone beyond that.
we could be in a better position than Arsenal soon, with Rumours that Van persie could be the next to go
With their new Costa Rican striker replacing him perhaps? Must be said, however depressed I feel about our lack of transfer activity, Arsenal's apparent imminent implosion brings a smile to my face.
Because he's bloody Adebayor. Ex L'arse, smug bastard who took great pleasure in scoring against us for them and then for RM. I really, honestly, can't stand the bloke. And I don't think he's better than what we've got, and at least with the one's we've got we won't have to put up with meaningless, I love Spurs crap when it's patently obvious he's a grasping, miserable piece of scum of a man. Thinks he's the top of the tree, but whilst he was at L'arse they won **** all, whilst he was playing for the blue Mancs they won **** all, and when he was at Real, they won **** all.... so he's a ****ing superstar isn't he.
Whilst that is true, the comments he came out with after the game and his superior 'aren't i the ****ing best' attitude when the rumours that he may be a target of ours really got my ****ing goat.
I'm surprised he wants to join us tbh, he has been abused by our fans on several occasions and yet has brushed it off and said he would be happy to be a Spurs player.
I think a few Arsenal (and ex Arsenal) players are impressed with our fans and the passion. I know Nasri has said he enjoys the atmosphere at WHL when he plays there and Gallas said similiar remarks when he joined us last year.
Interesting interview with Adebayor that some people might not have seen: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13362720.stm His comments about Mourinho show the kind of motivation that he instils in his players and you can see why Mancini keeps alienating everyone. His opinion of Arsenal is pretty accurate, too. Pretty mature comments about the abuse that he's received from some of our supporters. Ends on a mention of how Lassana Diarra misses the Premier League...
Whoop de doo, an ex Arsenal player enjoys the atmosphere at the Lane (could be cos thereisn't any at the Emirates, just like there wasn't at the Library?) Honestly, out of all the strikers that have been linked with us, doesn't everyone want ANY OTHER PLAYER but him? Jeez, I think I'd prefer Gregorz Rasiak, Steffan Iversen, Chris Armstrong and Andy Booth back
I've never really understood the hatred directed at him, to be honest, OODB. He scored against us, knew what it meant to Arsenal's fans and celebrated that. So what? It's not like he did anything offensive, like Henry running the whole length of Highbury to mock our fans. Funnily enough, when the Goons abused Adebayor and he did the same thing, after receiving tons of abuse, he was vilified. The banana that was thrown at him has been edited out of many pictures since, for some reason. I wasn't happy about us signing Gallas, though I could see the sense behind it, as I thought that he would disrupt the dressing room. Doesn't appear to have happened. His reaction when we beat Arsenal was very refreshing, too. Could've rubbed it in, but he just showed respect for the fans that he used to play for and left the field.
Cheer up OODB. Adebayor is a lot better than them and better than Defoe, Crouch and Pav so signing him would be good in my view.
Watched the interview, now I despise him even more. Basically because he was going to sign on the dotted line for Spurs, then got his head turned by Real (understandable don't get me wrong) so I take it thats why we didn't sign a striker in Jan as we had put all that effort into getting him to the detriment of getting anyone else. So not only did his goals knock us out of the CL, but his last minute turncoatery stopped us from getting in another striker to get us back in again last season. ****er
