The Animals was a life changer for me . Walked into a pool hall , for the first time , at about 14 or 15 and heard one of their songs playing on a juke box while I guy was making a shot with a cigarette hanging out his mouth and a girl hanging off him . Started smoking and had a girlfriend within a week and grades slowly tumbled from there ...lol
One of the things I loved about that scene was how it was tied in with the rave and illegal party scene. I used to go on a lot of demos and was involved in a few high profile environmental protests in the 90's. There were a few big soundsystems that used to be involved in that movement too, including the KLF who had a monsterous articulated truck full of bass bins and speakers. It was around the time of the ****er Tory criminal justice bill, that tried to outlaw gatherings of more than something like 10 people listening to 'repetitive beats' and was a direct attempt to try and quash an environmental movement that was tied into the dance scene.
...doubt they noticed me amongst the thousands ...but you never know ...I've always been strikingly handsome...
