Who makes up the panel? Set of ****s whoever they are. When compared to many of the unpunished tackles over the weekend, Thuds was no worse. The weight of opinion was that the sending off was harsh / wrong. But whoever the ****s are, they are not going to undermine one of their rising stars. FFS
I feel a bit sorry for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. His first premier league goal wasn't a goal. It was offside. Still, 4-0 againt 10 men ain't bad is it?
The sending off was obviously harsh, but the panel isn't there to re-referee the game. To get a card rescinded they have to decide that the ref ****ed up and that it wasn't a reckless tackle, the problem was it was a reckless tackle... please log in to view this image
Even though it was very harsh, it could be argued (as an isolated incident), as being worthy of a red card - so the panel was never going to undermine the ref. It'd have been fantastic if the referee, with the benefit of watching it back and reflecting, could have intervened and admitted it was too harsh. I think fans would welcome such a move, as opposed to the intransigence that we usually face. These days, refs are very well paid. I'd like to see a reduction in the stick they get, but at the same time: more transparency and more accountability from them.
I will continue giving them 'stick' until they improve. Most are garbage. I reckon the best I have seen this season is John Moss
Reckless, mistimed, careless, harsh, whatever. Semantics. What this highlights once again, is why many supporters are ****ing sick to the back teeth of the inconsistency of it all, especially loaded against smaller clubs. Surprised the appeal was reviewed as quick as it was, there's lots of other incidents they could have been reviewing retrospectively and would see that Thuds was low on the scale of 'reckless' Maybe they just have a file for small clubs and one for big clubs. Rubber stamp all those against smaller clubs, but agonisingly deliberate over the big club stuff, sh1tt1ng their pants in case they upset them. And its still the Allams fault.
Suppose it just shows how subjective it is: I think Moss is an utter shambles. I think if they were more accountable and transparent then they would get less stick and perhaps be deserving of less too.
How many contentious, not immediately obvious as a blatant error 'big club' red cards have been rescinded in the past couple of years?
There was a carbon copy tackle on Super Sunday the following day (can't remember which player) and they were given yellow.
I think he is too but I believe he has performed best out of the games I have seen this season which goes to prove my theory which is they are all crap.
If (and it is a very small 'if'), we stay up it really will be a bloody miracle. Might even walk to Lourdes.

Consensus seems to be that it's very harsh. Well let's hope it galvanises the players, stick two fingers up at the FA and get results in the next 3 games.
But referees are allowed to get things wrong. Where would we be if we tried to be fair? It's a lot easier to accept bad decisions and let referees get away with it. I see that Huddlestone got a yellow for pushing Boyd. He should have tried to break his leg and he wouldn't have got punished at all.
And it should have been a yellow card, but once the red had been given, it would have needed to have not be one at all for it to be rescinded.
