It's like me saying all Chelsea fans are Chav's though...

Some of the drum and bass that came out was extremely complex (modern stuff is just dark and **** imo), but back in the 90's people like Meltalheadz etc were incredibly talented. Some of the finest sound engineers came about due to engineering DnB.

I'm not a fan now, far from it. But the genre as a whole has produced some extremely talented people. I also know a lot of people that have made a very good career out of it, and are still doing their thing and helping communities.

I 100% get that some people will never like the sound, but to generalise like that is a real cop out tbh.

Exactly, opinions are like arseholes, as they say.

I like a lot of everything.

Not uncommon for my Spotify Random playlist to bang out "Purple Rain" by Prince, then Jump to "Reagan" by Killer Mike, then jump to "Ooh Ahh Just a little Bit" by Gina G.
My musical tastes have confounded folk for years :)

Anyway I've got a couple of gigs coming up soon.

This Thursday I'm off to see 'The Wailers' they're touring the Legend album worldwide.
May or June I'm seeing 'Ed Sheeran' at the 02.
May I'm seeing Bob Dylan at the BiC.

Plus festival season and I'll probably do 2 or 3 festivals.

    Love it.

The Animals and Kinks were way ahead of their time as far as I'm concerned , but .... everyone has opinions

Being serious, The Animals were superb, Eric Burdon was years in advance of the pop market at the time, such a snarling, sinister delivery. And Ray Davies was the quintessentially English voice of his time. Can't go into London these days without humming Waterloo Sunset.

It's not uncommon for me to generalise.
BUT....in this instance, I speak the truth.
I cannot say that everyone that listens to Drum And Bass is scum, because I havent met everyone who listens to Drum and Bass.
What I can say, is that every single thick **** who went to my ****ty council Estate school in Central Bletchley (The Lakes Estate, look it up on Wikipedia, highest teen pregnancy per person in Europe). ALL listened to Drum and Bass.
Anyone remember those Dreamscape jackets that had the velcro strips on them? and you could buy different coloured Dreamscape Velcro logos to stick on the back?
What a genius idea.....except in my school, it lasted 5 minutes before someone ripped it off your back and frisbee'd it on to the school roof.

The only merchandise I ever bought was the tape sets.

I did end up with a jungle fever bomber jacket at one point though, can't remember how and when!

Dreamscape weren't true DnB anyway, that was more happy hardcore iirc. Back in the day Jungle Fever was the best rave going, pure DnB and anyone and everyone in the genre was wanting to perform there.

    Ya nozzle! <laugh>

I know people will have heard of the individuals, but not necessarily the fact that they formed a band and did 2 albums together :)
