Genuinely curious - how will you feel if he signs on for 2 more years. You have been loyal to him in the past and quite rightly, he has been a ground breaking manager. I really think it is sad to see him clinging on - for his own sake and his own legacy. Surely he wants to be remembered as the guy that modernised English football, rather than the guy that held on for too long.
I would be annoyed at 2 more years, because it would show that the club are happy with the status quo. What I think will happen and I would like to see happen is that Wenger signs for 1 more year, which then gives the club a full season to negotiate and appoint his successor (as they clearly don't have anybody lined up at the moment). A lot of Gooners will be up in arms if and when he announces that he's staying next year. But the alternative, if he walked, is that we'd probably have Steve Bould in charge next season

Yes, I saw that and, like you, have no idea how genuine it was. Good news for us if true. I would predict a large turnover of players if it is. It might make sense if they extend for 1 year and look for someone slowly, but 2 years will be carnage. It already looks like the players aren't playing for him.
