80's music has no equal, and never will. Not a great lover of 80's music but I suppose everybody wants to change the world.
Oh you young buck you.....80's music has no equal, and never will.
Especially 80's pop music!

They were a bit serious, a bit po faced, but Orzabal wrote some great songs. Proper grown up music, more serious than many of their contemporaries. Probably missed out on the teenybopper market because of it. They didn't have a lead singer by the way, they shared the lead vocals. Smith sung Pale Shelter, Mad World and Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Orzabal sung Shout, Head over Heels and Woman in Chains.Everytime I see their lead singer, I just see Jon Cryer (Alan from Two and a half men) with a jeri curl.
My mum likes them, but I find them frightfully dull to be honest.
One cannot sing, the other has a voice like an albatross.
A bit "Meh" for me.
The one my mum used to play all the time was that "Sowing the Seeds of Love".They were a bit serious, a bit po faced, but Orzabal wrote some great songs. Sowing the Seeds was a Beatles pastiche. A good one, mind. The one my mum used to play all the time was that "Sowing the Seeds of Love".
I can appreciate their song writing talent, but as performers, they were just terribly dull for me, and I didn't particularly like either of their voices.
INXS did what they did, but were much better.
Your avatar and sig make that last comment rather dubious!Every decade has had a genre that has shined for me.
70's - Rock
80's - Pop
90's - Alternative
00's - Hip hop
10's - Utter **** in almost every aspect....almost.

Although 80's music is my favourite, there are some other 80's bands that everyone loved that I am not particularly keen on:
Duran Duran were overrated imo.
Frankie Goes to Hollywood as well.
Spandau Ballet were great, Human League were awesome.
Loved Queen's 80s stuff, plus of course the usual faves like MJ and Madonna.

You think Ariana Grande makes good music?!Your avatar and sig make that last comment rather dubious!![]()
You said that it was utter ****. It's more a description of your own activities than a review of her music, I think! You think Ariana Grande makes good music?!
Personally I would rather listen to nails on a chalk board than half of the **** she puts out.
Doesn't stop me wanting to bash her ****ing back door in though![]()

She can actually sing, funnily enough, but it's all just generic r'n'b, poppy ****e to make a few quid.
Utterly boring and forgettable.
A waste of talent, but I'm sure her manager's loving the cash.haha, I get ya!! Slow on the uptake there.
She has the best voice (and arse) on the planet....and you cannot say "so and so, is better" because whoever you say, she can mimic their voice.
She can do Britney, Christina, Beyonce, Celine Dion, to perfection.
Shame all her songs are absolute dog **** then.....such a shame.
Frankie were just a meh (at best) gay band who were lucky to be picked up
by Trevor Horn as his production powers were on the rise.
To prove the point, perhaps youtube has footage from The Tube, of Relax
before it got processed by the ZTT production machine.
his production of "Give Me Back My Heart" ..... my middle daughter plays guitar and sings (also doing music A Level currently) and we quite often look through Youtube at music genre, production effects (I go back to the 60s so am able to give her some perspective now and again) ... we were looking through 80s stuff and up came Dollar .... now if you can stomach it - take a peek at that Dollar song as released and then the difference that the TH production makes .. even become a bit of a guilty pleasure, if only for the notably TH production and inspired ending .
