I'm leaving not606. I won't explain why. I will be at the Notts Co game tomorrow. If anyone wants to meet me I will explain why. But I'm pretty sure that you won't be too bothered. I shall check back in a few hours, but won't be posting. Thanks for all the laughs, and all the best. Bye, then. Ponders.
That's a great pity. I haven't always been in agreement with all you've said on this board, particularly on the Riots thread, but you've always argued articulately and passionately and you're going to be missed on here.
I've mainly agree with what you've said on the riots and can't understand why people who hold strong views on certain issues are attacked on here. Posters should be able to make their views known without insult or personal rebuke and it's a shame that didn't happen here.
No need to leave, Ponders. The only thing we all share is a passion for Charlton Athletic, so maybe we can all go back to that.
If you don't change your mind mate, you will be missed by me. Although i feel the riots and other major political and social issues should be discussed its always hard when people have adverse and conflicting beliefs and its a shame when they interfere withal joint passion! That's the main reason i didn't post on the subject. Like i said, you will be missed by this fellow addick
Ponders please re-consider, I was another one in agreement with your posts, no-one should feel they should be forced into leaving the forum because of a disagreement
Agree with the dont go sentiments we all have different views on stuff but united in a love for CAFC all cybermates aint we...shame if you go.
Ponders I am another one who doesn't always agree with what you say on here but would defend your right to your views with a vehemence. You have always expressed your views with clarity and purpose. If we all agreed on everything the world would be a very boring place and without contradiction this forum would cease to exist. so please reconsider.
My money's on acworth re-appearing. I think thats why Ponders is off. I'm sort of considering the same for that reason.
Come on Ponders you're better than this!! (Benno aint sent a group of heavies round to see you in an attempt to persuade you to lay off him has he? ) A difference of opinion is what makes the world go round. This forum would be BORING if we all agreed on everything. So, pick your toys up and lobb them back into your pram and lets look forward to an exciting and fruitful (hopefully) season following our beloved Charlton Athletic. Ackworth aint an issue when you use the 'numb nut' blocker option .
I did not interfere (well I did once but do not think it was noticed) in the Riot thread, people held strong views on both sides of the spectrum and for me to force my opinions on the discussion, by moderating comments, would not have been fair. My view was that the best way for the thread to finish was for it to run out of energy of its own volition. Ponders, I do hope you reconsider, you can PM me it you have a problem that can be resolved. With regard to Jonathan, he has done nothing on here to justify an exclusion so I ask for people to give him a fresh start and an opportunity to contribute to discussions on a team he loves.
thanks all hell i will be on best behaviour i promise-im just a bit wound up seing these stupid courts giving out stupid setenses at these low life
I fully agree with this, I think it's the sporadic threads which appear on anything and everything which spoil the board and the lack of effective moderation thereof. I note that it was dealt with on Into the Valley but seems to be encouraged on here reading the latest post. There's already one thread on the riots people can post so why create countless others. It's not the first time I've been disappointed with the moderation, or lack of, on here. One comment was that only 2 threads would be allowed in one day but it isn't being enforced.
Ponders i havnt read the riots threads myself so dont really know whats happened one thing i do know is that you'll be missed here so i wish you would reconsider but it is your own choice
All Hell cant be everywhere and he has dealt with the problem once or twice already. The fact is that t'internet is largely unregulated and you can sign on using a new name with your service provider and a new name on the account. The ability not to view a particular individual works quite well but of course using an alias circumvents this. I for one believe that not606 is a more tolerant and wide ranging site than the others and because of the freedoms permitted on it is generally a more intelligent site to participate in. I see from another post that I may have caused offence to one individual with my malapropism and apologise for that
This forum has been brilliant up until now, a great FOOTBALL forum. There are plenty of other forums on the internet to dicuss other issues, but I come on here to read what other fans think of Charlton Athletic issues. Incidentally what has happened to DVDDD? We could do with a good laugh.
