You've got to be a bit of a prick to run a lame horse though, what if it had got injured or got lazy at a fence and had fallen? Very very silly to risk it's life more than usual for the sake of one run
See Adam Wedge on the run in there checking the infield screen to see if there were any dangers. Top bloke the good doctor. Went to a very good school you know.
Chelsea. The horse had a pulled muscle the night before. The team at the yard stayed up all night massaging and walking the horse. The vet was brought in on the morning of the race and declared him fit to run, said even if it recurred in the race it would do the horse no harm whatsoever. So the decision was taken to let him take his chance. You ****s are just fortunate to have been told before the off to lay your bets off!
Not a great lover of when an owner says or fancies something anyway because they talk a lot of **** and don't really have a clue, but then again he was bang on with Superb Story in the county last year. We'll be back with the flat my friend have no fear! Looking at buying some shares in some of Stuart William's horses. That is a yard i want to get into!
Fair enough mate didn't know the issue was that small, i wasn't talking out of pocket either i only had £5 on it, i had Court Minstrel. Just in terms of if they're planning on winning the Ayr one still it's better to just bypass Cheltenham let it have no issues or risk further issues and get it fit and raring to go instead of delaying it further. Is it still planning on the Ayr one?
If it had been mine Chelsea I wouldn't have run, simple as. The performance suggests that either the doctor has him totally wrong or the horse was feeling his strain. Hope for connections that it was the latter. Ayr still the plan and will be an even bigger price now!
Loup De Louve @ Fontwell, 10/1 3 25. Nearly missed that one too, everythings slipping under the net today!
Yeh would imagine it was the latter, clearly the Doctor is a great trainer, horse didn't look right after a few though could tell he was nursing something, shame really. The owners are a syndicate though aren't they, so imagine they just wanted the day out at Cheltenham might only get that one chance so can see why, but yeh i wouldn't have run either, not if it was lame the night before. Few nights before that maybe. How long until the Ayr one? Middle of April isn't it? Hopefully will be back to his best in time
Surely Nicholls will be letting STD go back to his dad at the end of this season? He is having a bit of a nightmare at the minute in my eyes. Never seems able to put a horse into a race.
Hates a strong word, he looks bereft of confidence at the minute and no surprise that Nicholls struggles at big stage with him riding as he is at the minute. Still can't believe he is riding them rather than Fehily. I'd like him to give Sean Bowen more rides.
Strange ride by STD in that last race or given an instruction to get a few more pounds of ready for a tilt at an Aintree handicap?
Sean Bowen is very very good, rate him highly. Never have rated Sam, think he's brother is better tbh, obviously rides on the flat now. Jonjo and Nicholls have both had mediocre seasons, neither seem to fire at the big meetings either now. Both need re-jigs. Should try and sign up Richard Johnson, big fan of Moloney too he doesn't get the rides he deserves
