Agreed. Preserve the life if possible. Also it's the principal that matters almost as much as the life. Certainly won't have gone down well in NZ.
My story of my iPhone on holiday is boring compared to that. I was drunk and wanted to take a selfie in the hot tub with my other half. We looked everywhere for the phone then the other half said whats that at the bottom of the tub...yep the iPhone. Pulled it out, still working, took the selfie and it is still working now (iPhone 7 + btw)
I know it's a bit of a nod towards how little she is, but Eddy Temple-Morris (who is a renowned spotter of talent, and has broken a LOT of bands into the mainstream in his time) just said on the radio, "Pound for pound, Fable is the best singer ever". That's made me really very happy!

Oh wow, that's really cool. We're getting there. It's annoying sometimes that you realise we'd be very much there and more had it been 20 years back, but you have to play the hand you're dealt, and maybe the slow build up will make her (and me) appreciate it more when it comes about. The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory, and all that.

5 years ago, I sold my house in 6 days on the second viewing. House prices here are relatively cheap for London commuting (one hour on the train), compared to Bucks, Beds and Herts.
As far as I'm aware, the 7 is one of the breed of waterproof/resistant phones, so that's a good result. On the negative side, it has an integral battery. Swings and roundabouts. However, I don't recommend anyone dropping their non-water resistant phone into old motor oil to achieve a similar effect. My phone has almost stopped oozing oil.
