I've got two daughters and if I found out that a sleazy older man was sending pictures of his dick to either of them when they were 17 I wouldn't have been best pleased. My comment on bad publicity stands, we don't need it from a stop gap player especially in my opinion.
You've lost me, explain. You asked if I would ask a girl for id if I was unsure on their age. I replied by saying I genuinely used to but now I don't as if I'm unsure whether their old enough or not then I assume they're probably not, for me. Your last paragraph seemed to be talking mental maturity rather than physical so I don't understand why they tie in?
As a related but separate issue, I feel for youngsters today....they get thrown into sexual politics far too early....before their brains catch up with their loins. Most will be fine and learn from good and bad experiences, but a few will end up scarred. I think it is more important that the people concerned are emotionally at the same stage...you can't set a fixed age gap. One 20 year old may manipulate a 16 year old, whereas in another instance they could be nicely matched.
When you wake up, ask yourself if you'd be happy to associate with a 35 year old bloke who'd sleep with an 18 year old and why that would make you feel any different about the bloke and the 16 year old. This should show why it's hard to make judgemental statements or where things are right or wrong. Anyway - this player is a prat for sending photos of his bits to anyone!
Well this is the thing that is hard to judge and will be different for each individual person. For me personally, providing they are at least of a certain age of course, my opinion of their maturity is almost just as important. I still stand by that a 2nd line would be a good thing.
The fact that it is confusing shows my point. You wouldn't ask a girl for ID if she doesnt look like she needs to. Many 17 year olds can look 25. A 17 year old can look 25 and be immature or mature. It ties in. And the reverse. You made a statement that you wouldn't sleep with a 17 year old and I was just saying that I don't know how you can make that statement (picking up on Billy's point) if you don't know and you then said yourself that you don't ask anymore because you make an assumption on what they look like. You could be sure they are "old enough" but get it wrong.
Just in case any of you are inclined to naked pictures, you should remember that you may love naked pictures of her, but a woman's response to a picture of a naked penis is usually laughter, followed by the desire to share the fun with her mates.
For me, then yes it would be different. Obviously not everyone will agree but in my book one is worse than the other. Change it to a 20yr old with a 15&16 year old and would you say there's a difference? Taking the law out of the equation as it's morality we're discussing. Me - I think anyone under 30 needs to wear a badge as I can't tell any young ages these days. Started new job and thought one of the ladies in the office was about 20 - she's 29, married with two kids! I'm old.
I've rarely met a 17yr old who looks 25 to be honest if ever. But then maybe being from a different generation I'm a lot more sceptical of ages? A lot of older people are suprised at how old some girls look these days but I'm not cos I've grown up with it more. (I hope that makes sense, it's not at all a dig!) I'm also over cautious, and probably lost out on a few over the years due to this

I think the judge was quite correct in dismissing it incidentally as several people including a couple of policemen believed she was about twenty. Life can be a minefield out there. There will be some who say he was guilty, but guilt also involves intent....he apparently burst into tears when told her age. How would it help to ruin a young man's life when he will never be in danger of repeating the 'offence'.
On the note of hard to judge, someone briefly mentioned yesterday the story in Scotland. A lad of 19 being done for sleeping with a 12 year old he thought was 16. Judge decided against sentencing.
