That's what happens when you are interrupted......having to sort out a mini crisis. You sort it then called away again so I posted without re-reading. It has probably happened to us all at some time. Never mind was corrected........
Unlikely I'd say, as Shearer would have been something like 14-15 years old when Steve Williams got an England call-up whilst still a Saints player.
Add Clyne & Redmond to that picture and we're looking at potentially 7 Southampton players making their England debuts in under 4 years. The current quality of the England team is well debated, but that's still a heck of an achievement for everyone associated with the club. Plus if you add Morgan, Jose & Graziano doing the same for their respective nations, it's quite the feat and putting pay to the myth that international managers ignore Southampton
I loved that song... shame it got absolutely ruined by the time the tournament kicked off though with Rickie already gone and the commentators reffering to 'Liverpool bound Lallana' etc.
Well considering he is man city's second top goal scorer and second top in their assists also, and as you say he has world class team mates, i'd say he is making more of an impact than most in that team! More goals than Silva, Sane, De bruyne isn't too bad imo. More assists that Aguero, Silva and Sane too. You can argue stats don't tell the whole story but you can't argue a player doesn't impact games when he registers more goals and assists than almost his entire team of top quality players.
I would still put Redmond, lallana and Antonio above him, leaves the full back too exposed for my liking
