There's very nearly a full team of current and previous Saints players in that squad.

If I could be arsed (and knew how) I'd pull up the post at the start of the season where I said Redmond would be in the England squad and got castigated!

Interesting,,,Southgate says that Redmond and JWP will still play for the U21 in the summer. Good....I'm a real believer in playing a strong U21 side.

Luke Shaw, really ? Out the window goes the theory of picking players in form for their club

Hopefully they get a run out against Lithuainia, though I expect they're just there for the experience.

The England team is really lacking in the two defensive midfield positions, Dier being the only player in the squad that plays in that position. It's a toss up of Lallana, JWP or Barkley who will play as a more creative mf, it's where JWP played for the u21s. Ali will get the no 10 slot and the two wide positions are also up for grabs. If he plays Berti, which on form he should, then he should play Redmond and not Sterling who has been pretty shyte this season. On form the right side wide player should be Antonio. We could see a very young England side that looks exciting on paper, but also lacks a couple of world class players that an England team normally has

Really happy for them both. Don't expect JWP to get any gametime but Redmond might.

Why would he be different? <laugh>

He seems different. Like a young man who not only knows who he is, but what he wants.

Well done the boys. Saw the headline that Defoe was in the England squad on the Beeb and was genuinely shocked when I saw that (quite rightfully on current form) JWP amd Redmond were in. Good stuff!

It's interesting, I watched the game of two halves thing the other week and there was a question about which saints player got player of the month last February. It was Fraser, an answer nobody else got but when they said the answer there were jokey replies of "Fraser, really??!". I know it's all In good humour but everyone seems to know he's having a shocker of a season. Especially when that reply was from Shane. Though he did make up for it by answering the Gabbiadini question saying " it's 6, I know it all too well as ive watched them all go in from the bench"

Remarkable as well that Fraser has recorded the third highest number of clean sheets in the premier league this season - 9.

    Really??

He has had an extremely good season and has easily been one of the best English players in the league. I have been a big critic of his, especially after city paid £50m for him, but he has done very well this season.
