Its not really just the coefficient thing either.
The PL is my league and I have a soft spot for it, so like to see its teams do well in Europe is all.

Yeah I thought support was a little strong too hence throwing in the 'cheer on' bit.

I just don't care about other clubs, admittedly I don't want seeing you guys or Arsenal to do well for obvious reasons but in Lesta's and any other team's cases, I wouldn't care if they went on to win the CL or get knocked out in the next round.

I just can't fathom the idea of actually wanting another to do well. I'd feel as though I were betraying Spurs. The coefficient stuff doesn't bother me, if Spurs are good enough then we shouldn't have to rely on someone else to give us good fortune, if we're not good enough then it's down to the gaffer and players to improve and make us so.

For me, I enjoy the banter/ hatred in football. Do I want Spurs to be liked by anyone else other than our own fans - nope! That way, it makes victories so much sweeter, while when we lose or draw I just throw a massive strop regardless <laugh>. (Though losses to Arsenal/ Chelsea/ West Ham obviously hurt a lot, lot more!).

It wouldn't be betraying spurs :p, you're not in the competition 90% of the time <laugh>.

There will be certain teams i want to do well if i like a particular player or manager and it doesn't affect us or if there's a team i particularly like in terms of how they play (who wouldn't be cheering on monaco, young players, attractive gung ho football) but generally, if i hate them in the league, i don't want them to be doing well in the CL. The only consolation is maybe fixture pile up so i'm more than happy for a team to progress a bit in the europy but if they don't i will still enjoy them losing

    Exactly,
Unless the outcome of the match has an impact on Spurs, then it is not betraying them
Like I could understand in 2012, you guys wanting us to lose to Bayern in the CL final (sorry about that btw), because it had a direct impact on Spurs (through UEFA's stupid ruling, but nevermind), but if the outcome doesnt affect Chelsea negatively, then I do not generally have any ill will towards other PL clubs in Europe.

    Prick! <laugh>

I meant in general though, CL/ EL/ PL/ Cups etc, I just don't wish anyone else well, especially rival clubs, whom I wish nothing but bad fortune too :)

See for me, I watched the City - Monaco match as someone hoping to be entertained by a game of football, the result didn't bother me one bit.

Dont really have a problem with United either.

I will usually support an English team in Europe. But as that doesn't include most of our rivals, it doesn't count! <whistle>

    No, I didn't...

But that was more to do with the ****ty football you played to win it!...

And the only thing English about your team is Cahill - and he won't last much longer...

Still the best thread ever in Not606 history, the Spurs matchday thread for the 2012 Cl final.

I don't know the last time I mentioned that personally TBH. Much more interested in making sure we get ourselves up the table this season and enjoy the CL run whilst it lasts. Last season is last season, it is a memory :emoticon-0148-yes: as is Claudio's reign by the way

See...you do bantz, its just selective.

Like you support English teams apart from Liverpool(not to be discussed)

Just another day in Bope's breezy world....just don't take a pee.
