If you Google "bbc paul pogba" the only article that mentions his price is "Man Utd: Why £89m Paul Pogba deal is a bargain - BBC Sport"

Well, I spoke to my Citeh friend after the first leg and I said that the away goals they conceded could end up costing them. He dismissed it claiming they'd score away so it wouldn't matter.
All I can say on Saturday when I see him is, I told you so.

I would not recommend googling 'bbc Paul Pogba' for fear of the type of videos that it would give links to.

Yep, and the sad thing is, if they use the money well and have another successful season some will accuse them of buying success.

    OK so....

    1. City out to lesser French side (even though said side has good record in cl and proven it mettle)

    2. Arsenal spanked royally by ze Germans. Not unexpectedly.

    3. Spurs humiliation in Europe all season

    4. Leicester the worst side in England all year are the best side in Europe lol. Had a piss easy group due to seeding and then got a side in Seville that should have tonked them

And to englands European demise continues.

Not to worry though utd will win through and give us all hope

It's interesting how much soul searching there is every March, given their European trophy haul.

I did a mock up of the new UEFA bonus points that will be added to the 10 year record for use in the distribution of prize money as i was curious how it might impact the English teams.

It will alter slightly as its based on the 2015/16 season backwards but gives an idea what will happen from 2018/19 onwards.

Basically you get the following points for CL/EL/CWC wins:

    UCL UEL CWC
    Last 5 years 12 3 n/a
    As of 1992/93 8 2 2
    Before 1992/93 4 1 1

    So we get:
    pos bonus pts
    1 Real Madrid 74
    2 Barcelona 45
    3 Milan 38
    4 Bayern Munich 31
    5 Liverpool 28
    6 Ajax 22
    7 Internazionale 21
    8 Manchester United 21
    9 Porto 20
    10 Chelsea 18
    11 Juventus 17
    12 Sevilla 13
    13 Borussia Dortmund 9

    = 24 Celtic 4
    = 26 Tottenham Hotspur 3
    = 31 Arsenal 2
    = 43 Manchester City 1

Are they really changing how the coefficient points are awarded based on past winners? Is so that's awful and just puts the normal big clubs as top seeds including those good in the past but not hit standards recently (us, Milan, ajax etc)

Only for the distribution of prize money (along with using 10 years instead of 5) as they claim past winners have built the competitons aura etc etc.

For the Seedings they are actually making it fairer by keeping the 5 year period but dumping the 20% Country portion and making it purely about the teams performance (unless you wern't in Europe in which you get the country co-ef i think)

    From UEFA's press release:

"The new club coefficient will no longer include a 20% contribution of the respective national association coefficient in order to avoid further unfair advantage for clubs of top-ranked associations and penalisation of clubs with good individual performances but a weak association coefficient. The club coefficient used for seeding purposes will be calculated using results of the past five years to reflect the current strength of teams and will not contain bonus points for previous titles.

Meanwhile, the club coefficient used for financial distribution purposes will cover the last ten years and will include bonus points for previous titles to reflect the longer-term contribution of clubs to the competition brand and success. Bonus points for trophies won will be allocated as follows"

I was always puzzled why they kept mentioning the BBC in those videos - I never saw Gary Lineker in any of them.

Pretty embarrasinf from both. Both squared up. Not sure why they both got yellows. Either both red or nothing, either head butted or didn't. Just standing in front of someone isn't a yellow card offence.

Nah, don't want players cheating. I'd rather one of ours stick a nut in someone than dive about like a girl.

Haha true - but Suarez was the king of it. He would win free kicks and penalties on the back of it. And it winds the opposition up.

But then again when he had that amazing season he had stopped all that and was simply unplayable, the best player in the world at that moment.

Suarez contributed to the amazing comeback by his diving for the penalty (In addition to the first goal). But the architect and MOM must surely be Neymar and for me the best player currently
