Disko 7/1 Cheltenham 1:30 - I think his jumping could be the difference between him and the field today, he will probably race as handy as he did lto and if he gets into a rhythm then he will go mighty close to causing a minor upset. The 21 furlongs is just salubrious for him. He's only 6 and this will hopefully be an enjoyable experience for his first visit to HQ where we could see him back for the big one in 2 years time all going well. Airlie Beach 4/1 Cheltenham 4:50 - wrestled with this one quite a bit, but I couldn't find anything to deter me, especially at the price. Big fan of Let's Dance but at 7/4 she can run and win without any investment from me. Forge Meadow is held well on form by these but is still improving and may take a hand in a finish. Last Bague Au Roi is lovely too and is bound to run a solid race. This race excites me most today and it won't surprise me what wins but the bet is AB in hope she is that bit more speedy than her stable mate LD. Have a good Thursday lads
Excuse the cheek here but over at Towcester tomorrow Grace Harris has got GRAMS AND OUNCES in off a very handy looking mark in the 2:35. Won this race last season off 9lb higher and has had a warm up for it on the all weather. Already 15/2 from 10's and likely to go off shorter. Has a very poor win to run ratio but course form at this track is a huge positive.
Yorkhill wins the Jlt for me. I dont buy the Mullins horses running crap line. All have run to a decent level they just haven't won.
23 runners in the last fortnight and none were in with a serious chance? Nine of those by the way were pulled up. Rumours at the weekend were that the yard has a bug. Not saying they have all been poor but the current form has to put a question mark over the two in the Gold Cup.
Off to Cleeve Hill tomorrow but my confidence is shattered. Going with TOP NOTCH, FOR GOOD MEASURE, EMPIRE OF DIRT & YOUKNOWHATIMEANHARRY. it has to be the day the bookies take a hammering.
Going for three at big prices in the handicaps. Electric Concorde in the Pertemps, Unioniste in the Kim Muir and Henryville in the Brown Advisory
He wouldn't have won anyway. Shouldn't have run in his state and should have been pulled up as soon as Walsh noticed he wasn't right. Most observant people knew he wasn't right in the paddock. Sad state of affairs.
I don't know where I heard this but I heard he had some cowboys in to lay new gallops and it's been downhill since
