The only one out of that lot which is still debatable is alonso. The rest was well known and playing for decent clubs and would have made it any where. Morientes and Veron was decent players before they came to prem and couldn't hack it. Your only point for Draxler is his age. What about attitude?
Lets talk draxler. PSG paid 40mil euro bitcoins and have add ons on it. LFC were talking to him but this fee was not the issue. There was negotiations and then draxler turned round and said hey PSG wants me. now i want more. Klopp said **** off there then. either we respect klopp's values or we do not. He said ok you want to pull this crap with me I'm out. Draxler apparently went from 90-100k per week to 170k per week demand overnight. Now... is that right or not? thats you to everyone to form their own opinion but Klopp decided and it is after all up to him. So herr draxler is now playing for PSG alongside a huge squad of others. Is he happy? probably. btw.. he signed for PSG on about 100k per week.. their average weekly wage. SO his demands to us told us clearly IMO his opinion and he's jumped at the quick route. I hope it works out long term for him
what happened in league cup final. league cup semis, europa final? Klopp was on his feet after 5 mins in europa screaming at him and he looked lost and scared to me. He works hard, at home and in games where the press is effective which is games v big sides in the league but when its a really big game with something on the line IMO he is unreliable.
Modern footballers want too much too soon. The big money should come after a sustained period of consistent, high-standard work. In other words, you don't deserve it until you've earned it. Can has done nowhere near enough to warrant being amongst the top earners yet.
but shouldn't SOMEONE stand up and be counted there... sturrdige did for a half. he wanted to show himself on a big day. (he's now IMO malingering again) Lallana was 27 and should have been saying this is my day to really show my worth as a player but he didn't. others like moreno walked off their field at HT and i could tell watching team walking off he thought the game was won and over. he was hugging someone and laughing. 2 mins after ht he was crying. squad mentality yes..... thats fine.. but individuals must stand up.
Problem is no one in our squad bar Milner has won anything. None of them have a winning mentality or that experience in the big occasions. That's the one problem with youth or buying players from other Prem clubs that haven't won much.
What about it? My thoughts without really looking at anyone's side of it... Don't give him a pay hike. I'm happy enough to see him stay and raise his pay based on performances over another couple of years. But for now, he can be replaced in the summer whether it's him as a player or starting 11. Let's face it, he's frustrating but not useless. He said in that interview that he's happier when he's not running as much. This either needs sorting (with rest/physio or whatever) or he has to go! We don't want players who can't be dynamic, this imo is a big problem and can't justify giving another big contract to a crock. He has said it's not about money (delay in contract talks), it could be about contract length, selling price or his future options. So I'm not going to look into whether he may become a big earner or not until it's done.
Exactly. Please tell Jimmy this then lol. He seems pissed that his player (client ) is not earning the same as what he classes as other overpaid players. My/our point is they at least have more of an impact on a game, can doesn't. He will now come back with the point in his one of only a few good games he got the winner in last game so deserves the same as the others.
Aha right. I didn't read his comments as that. I got it that he saw Can as a decent player (as do I) and that he shouldn't get a big pay rise. I think he was more just trying to not write him off. My concern with Can is that he can't play at his best and he needs to overcome this somehow. I think that we all agree that we all want Can to play to his best ability, which is actually very good. Just isn't happening this last few months since he came back in Oct.
well that is true to some extent. In the past skertl had a Russian league title medla. Mingolet - second division title Clyne - not a thing Matip German cup Lovren croatian league and 2 cups, french cup Milner. english league x 2, league cup, fa cup henderson league cup with us Wijnaldum. dutch league and cup Lallana: football league trophy. coutinho: italian cup, brazilian 2nd div title, underage brazilain world cup winner. (u20s) fimrino - not a thing Mane austrian league and cup now... thats not exactly all big time is it.... but players can only be winners where they were and come from. also all of our players now have 2 loaser medals to remember what losing feels like In short not every player can win things, if they don't come form a top team they won't have anything.... but coutinho for example.. did he REALLY win those medals or sit watching others do it mostly. For me look at wijnaldum. captain of PSV as they won a double. you'd think he would be made of stern stuff... yet his away record is awful here. Thats unusual.
Not writing him off but he needs to move the ball quicker as he slows us down too much. By the time he has decided what to do oposition has regrouped, and against teams who sit back is not good as we need to catch them on the rare occasion we can counter them.
Coutinho was on the bench at Inter. Masch was on the bench at West Ham. Alonso was doing well but not seen as a top player. Torres an up and coming striker nobody wanted to take a risk on. And Suarez a nut job who was scoring in a crap league.
