Who knows? I'm feeling a bit despondent because we're just learning nothing from these bad displays.
The last time we stuffed a lower team was Stoke in December and even then we went behind first. I don't know what the problem is but it isn't getting any better.
I don't know if burn-out has anything to do with it, but if it has then that will come even quicker next season. I can't believe that after all those bad games we still served up the same ****e against Burnley.
Or how some fans can't see beyond the 3 points to the underlying weakness of the performance. <doh>

The performances are a worry and the lack of options for us to change things highlight how much we need to buy. I like Woodburn but we shouldn't be relying on him to come on and make an impact we should be bringing him on once the game is won.
Same with Origi, he's been poor but we have no other options.
Klopp has started something but now he needs to look at what he has and be ruthless, there are some who are not good enough and he needs to sort that out.

Midfielder confirms transfer approach from Liverpool: I even met Steven Gerrard
MARSEILLE wonderkid Maxime Lopez has revealed Liverpool approached him over a move to Anfield
The 19-year-old made his debut for Marseille last season.

He has impressed this term, making 26 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Lopez has now revealed Liverpool made an approach for him, with Steven Gerrard even meeting him after a game.
"They approached me in a good way," he told French newspaper L'Equipe:

"I even met Steven Gerrard at the stadium after a game.

"They said to me: `In five years you get Coutinho's place!'
"I wanted to go there, but also to stay at OM [Marseille].

"To go like that, at this age and even with your family, is very hard.

"I had noticed that they had 30 young professional players, not to mention the incumbents. You really have to be mentally prepared."

Don't give Emre anything higher than £70k I'd say (and that's pushing it). He's not good enough at the mo and doesn't really have a solid role he can call his own. He can't run much, doesn't have the best technique on the ball and his passing is limited (albeit the odd hollywood ball).

To be quite honest he is a squad player at best. He needs to understand that this contract isn't to signal some miraculous improvement but a bridge contract until he shows further signs.

Worst case scenario we sell him on in the summer. Skeptical about this Juve talk too.

He must be annoyed that other less talented and quite frankly mediocre players are getting way more than he is, despite him being younger with more potential.

At the end of the day, I don't think he's worth £100k a week but I also don't believe Hendo Milner and Lallana warrant over £100k a week. I don't think Lucas and Lovren deserve £70-80k a week. And as much as I love Sturridge, he's getting £100k to not play.

Our business model is around attracting young talent. But what's the point when we can't retain it - Sterling and now Can are examples. Fans don't rate him because he's had a poor season despite playing Majority of it injured and playing in different positions and also the fact that no one else apart from Mane has been consistent in the whole team. He did a very good last season. He's 23, German international with potential.

But fans are happy that we offered Migs a new deal and gave Lallana a bumper new deal off the back of 10 really good games this season.

The main thing for both Sterling and Cans cases is that they have suitors outside of Liverpool. So we must be doing more to retain them. It took so long for Coutinho to be offered what he deserves.

And what I hate the most is how these contract talks get leaked. It's the same with Sterling when we try to strong arm players into signing.

I get what you're saying but we have to look at the bigger picture, do we sign him up on big wages and hope he gets better or do we use that money on bringing someone in?

He isn't better than Henderson in the DM role, he isn't good enough to play in place of Wijnaldum or Lallana further forward. He MIGHT get better than Henderson in the DM role but it's a risk. I'd sell and buy a replacement capable of forcing Hendo out of the team.

Honestly wage is irrelevant. The wages paid are market driven OR stupid club errors. None are the players faults.

Did carragher complain when he was lobbed 90k for 2 years when he was toast? Nope

We will just have to see where the value is.

It's clear lfc are getting little value out of many of thier players for the wages.

Emre Can's contract stand-off with Liverpool has led the club to look for alternatives to fill the defensive midfield role next season.
Spain's Marca claims Roque Mesa, of Las Palmas, may be the man for the job and is being lined up for a move to Anfield.
    He won't come cheap though.
Reports say the midfielder has a €30m buyout clause and there could also be the complication of a bidding war with other interested parties, which have included Bayern Munich, Everton and Tottenham.

It's a big factor as to why we fail to land our targets IMO.

I do think people have genuinely forgotten how good he was last season. With Hendo - his body is failing him, he's not good as it is, 3-4 years older than Can and cannot play in a midfield 2 which means he's not particularly versatile. And as we've seen - Hendo has been involved in our defeats this season as much as Can has. And Can proved that anyone could play Hendo's role against big clubs and still win (arsenal game).

100k a week for Can makes me sick, but as pointed out, this club has a habit of handing stupid contracts and it's sets a dangerous precedent. £100k is a lot but we should definitely be looking to keep our young players.

Personally, Can Hendo Wij provide excellent squad options and depth but also versatility which we will need if we make it to Europe. Problem is that they're all so similar.

I agree, bring in this Dahoud it's then up to Can to fight for his place Hendo as well if he can stay fit.

Doubt we'll get Dahoud - think he's going to join Dortmund.

But Naby Keita would be immense. Klopp seems to have targeted a number of CM's which is good. Brandt looks like another AM Klopp wants to add.

We need to protect our back four though, yes we need attacking options but a DM is important IMO or at least a combative box to box midfielder.

Keita can do that as well but I agree - a real bruiser wouldn't go amiss.

I don't think a lot of us are happy about the silly wages we pay players Jimmy.

But milner, lalana do justify it more than can as they usually have an impact on our game, and Milner has big game experience.

You certainly have an agenda where he is concerned.

You be happy if we paid him same as the other overpaid players?

    If so justify it please.

Less talented mediocre players? Harsh jimmy. His concern shouldn't be X is earning his so I should be earning that.

Plus those earning more are regular first tesm players. Hendo, Milner both regular players (milner is obviously exception when comes to wages as well as was a freebie so wages are always slightly higher).

Can In 3 years hasn't nailed down a first team place. Now not all his fault and has been pushed into different roles which hasn't helped but if he thinks he should be earning X amount he needs to prove it. So far he hasn't and is a squad player in the team. Other players are more established, more consistent than him. He needs to get his head down work out with klopp and coaches where he's best to play for the next 10 years and try nail that role.

He's already said he wouldn't be happy if he got £100k plus. I think Can has the ability to do a lot better obviously and I'm in agreement with Jimmy that he could be a decent squad player. But we deffo need someone who can protect our defence more effectively for sho.
