For a club like Leicester to make it to the QF of the champions league is an incredible achievement. Also given that your club resembled a wet fanny fart in this competition, it's clear that you have completely humiliated yourself.

  6. No.

    Who expected us to win?

    No one.

5-0 over two games is hardly humiliating against that Real Madrid side, in the QF, especially for a team playing for the first time ever in the CL.

If Leicester can keep their aggregate score to no more than 5, in the their QF match, I think they can count themselves proud.

  7. Not so sure about that, NSIS.

If you are Barca weighing up the relative pros and cons about playing either Bayern or Leicester in the next round, I'm fairly certain who they would rather play, to be honest, mate.

    True.

Barca would certainly give Leicester's defence big problems.

But few will relish a trip to Filbert st.

  9. The competition isn't over yet, Fosse, so you'd be better off not crowing too loudly.

Are you going to win it? No.

Will the QF be harder than the last round? Probably.

If you get through to the SF, will that be harder than the QF? Probably.

If you get through to the Final, will that be harder than the SM? Probably.

What's the point of getting this far only to lose 10-0 on aggregate in a one-side dry-humping?

It's like the Gods of Football are setting you up only to be kicked down hard and brutally.

I am not wumming, Fosse; truly, I am not. But, I have to call things as I see them.

I suppose its the same as when the footballing experts on here constantly remind Spurs fans they didnt achieve anything by finishing 3rd(which is factually correct and Spurs fans never claimed a trophy for it) however we as Spurs fans saw it for the progress it was and a step in the right direction and definately a positive for us.

So im sure everyone will like your comment since no trophies are handed out at this stage.

  11. The trouble for Leicester is that, up until now, few of the European teams will have taken them seriously. They are the same type of banana skin, in the CL, that (say) Scunthorpe would be to Spurs, in the League Cup. It's expected that we'd get through, right?

    Wrong.

It's that kind of think that can undo even the best of sides, and give teams like Leicester/Scunthorpe a chance against the bigger guns.

Well, you can be certain that whichever side Leicester play in the QF will not be taking them for granted, and that they will not be caught out by Leicester's chip-and-rush tactics. The other problem that Leicester will have is that once they get to 3-0 or 4-0 against a side that they cannot even get the ball off, the players' heads will drop and they will become susceptible to a goal-fest.

Also, let us not forget that humiliations come in many forms in footy. I am reminded of the time that Arsenal played Barca and the only goal that Arsenal scored, over two ties, was the one that Barca scored for them. Barca had something like 90% possession in the return leg, and Arsenal couldn't even manage a single shot on goal. When they tried, Bendtner tripped over his own bootlaces and plunged English football into utter ridicule.

LCFC could lose 1-0 across two legs and still be humiliated.

  12. You make an extremely valid point, Bruv.

If Leicester do get dry-humped in the QF, will Fosse and Johnny be buying the DVD?

Again, not wumming, merely asking the question.

So the old dog comes back to sniff the crusty old turd it dropped

Getting to the QF's is a tremendous achievement for them, and even if they get gubbed it won't diminish the fact that they've exceeded everyone's expectations of what they'd do in the CL.

You ****ed up me old mucker

Y'all know my feelings on this thread.
It's been one giant, bitter, embarrassment from Day one.
I hope Leicester win the CL (they won't), or City, whatever.
As long as it aint another ****ing La Liga club.

On the contrary buddy ... loads of reasons to crow ... did you know that we are the first English team since Chelsea in 2005 to overturn a first leg defecit against a Spanish team? ... not to mention reaching the last 8 of the Champions League in our first outing in the competition. If Man City don't get through tonight (I hope they do) then at least England has one team that has not gone out with a whimper eh? Remember the co-efficient!

Of course you must call things as you see them - we all must. That's why, as an Englishman, you must be immensely proud of how the Mighty Foxes are keeping the English banner flying high in this competition, when, as a nation, we have already suffered the abject humiliation of one of our teams going out of the competition even before the group stages had played the final game and another not getting through the last 16? <ok>

I think it more likely covers the harsh realities of Senor HIAG's life ... perhaps yours too ... anyone want a slice of lemon with their mash?

Leicester City overturn a UCL defecit against a club currently competing for the La Liga title ... Spurs in contrast not only can't overturn a defecit against a mid-table Belgian side in the Europey, but actually turn over instead and take a humiliating dry humping from a side that then concedes 5 at home when they come up against their next oposition in that second tier competition <doh> ... still .. at least you still have your cup final against Chelsea to look forward to. <rofl>

Everyone said that they were worried that Leicester would **** up England's co-efficient.

It's actually turned out to be true. Securing that 4th spot means North London will probably get another chance to embarrass us next year.
