Leicester have a good chance as do sevilla. Spurs play attack first defence second. Leicester and their opponents do the reverse.defence first attack second.Actually Chelsea play the latter way as well. Perhaps we should bore the crap out of our fans as well......?
I hope thats a joke. With Poch and previously under AVB its very much defence first attack second. There's a reason you have one of the stingiest defences and 2 absolute beasts in the middle as holding midfielders (to be fair dembele can be skillful) and it's not for because of their attacking prowess. Not saying it's a bad thing as it's defences the win championships but you are not the spurs of old
There are times when Spurs turn it on as an attacking force and times when they don't. When they don't, it helps to have a very solid defence. In times gone by, if Spurs weren't scoring goals, the opposition probably would be - that's not the case now. If you don't concede, you've always a chance.
Absolutely you guys have times where you are great going forward. I just happen to disagree with smithy thats all. Poch is very much make sure your solid first before you go attack. He will not have tactics of being gung ho and throwing men forward. He will always make sure you are solid and wont overcommit too many men. Not saying thayd a bad thing but you guys are definitely more defence minded than attack minded
I'm surprised that we haven't conceded too many goals. We have 11 players on the field pretty much on the attack.......leaving many gaps in defence. In the old days we'd do the same thing....and even with the Mike England's in defence we'd mess up and lose to someone like Blackpool. two games come to mind last season. Leicester at home in the league and Palace in the cup.All over them....and they get a choker....and so did we!
I was about to make that comment, but checked back a page and found you had understandably already made it. Isn't that three red cards he's avoided? That's up there with Costa's achievements. Remember that it's not just the impact on the game he doesn't get sent off in, but the games where he's now available instead of being banned.
