i voted for ........ http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/poll/2011/aug/10/who-will-relegated-premier-league
I think although the mags have a technically better squad than last year, they've lost some key players in the process. Enrique, Carroll, Nolan (who's influence on the whole team was clearly huge) and Barton not sure what's happening with him. They have striker who can get goals in the prem and that's Ba who has a dodgy knee, after that it's Ameobi who can only score against us, Lovenkrands and Best. That's not a top half strikeforce. I just can't help but think that they'll struggle. Team spirit played a big part in a pretty impressive season last year and now the core of that team has been taken out and replaced with a bunch of frogs. Pardew will have done a good job if he can get mid table again this season. Saying all this mind I'm still bricking it over the derby!! Tough, unpredictable games no matter what each set of fans thinks about the two sides...
As for going down I say: 18th - Blackburn - Clueless owners, inexperienced manager, no top signings, Benjani is part of their first team........ 19th - QPR - Billionaire owners that haven't exactly put their hands to far into their pockets. 20th - Norwich - They were in league 1 just last year. Too much, too soon IMO
Why? I just cant see them going down, there are at least 5 and maybe more teams a lot worse than them this season. They havnt really got strength in depth though, so if they do have an injury crises, I think they may be close, but i still think they have too much to struggle really badly. as long as we win the Derby, I dont really care what they do, I just cant see them going down.
It's just an internet poll mate, it doesn't matter if you believe it or not. I doubt everyone on this thread believes they will go down. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=616270 It's just a bit of a laugh.
We had under half a season with Carroll and his 11 goals, then went pretty much the entire season with Ameobi and Lovenkrands, with a few apps from Best before he was injured. That's a ****ing awful strikeforce, yet we still finished with a comfortable mid-table finish (top 10, if we didn't give away that 3-0 lead). There are still fighters in the squad, and they're still professionals. Pretty much no other team in the EPL had a supposed 'leader' like Nolan was for us, so why do people think it was oh so vital? And for the record, even with the likes of Nolan, we gave up a lot of wins in the last minutes last season, and we lost that 3-0 lead. For our supposed vital leader, he wasn't all that great in keeping the team motivated. I honestly don't know why people think Nolan was that vital to the 'team spirit'. No one really has a clue. He was the captain, got along with the players and said some of the nice usual captain-like things in the media. No one really has a clue how much of an influence he really was. Thinking were going down when we have the likes of Krul, Coloccini, Barton, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Marveaux and Ba in the side (along with a new striker soon) is frankly ****ing mental when there are some truly awful sides out there this season. It's jumping right on the bandwagon and right on the media hype.
and it didnt need my vote to get them to 30%+ so your point is? and what you are saying is every census and poll ever, is just a waste of time because idiots just vote what they want, why have a democracy then.
Could be worse, at least we don't have tops like this... WTF, is this about, possibly the worst t-shirt ever made, no wonder everyone laughs at them........ please log in to view this image
Too many teams possibly can go down, but you know what? I don't think we are one of them! Does anyone realise how long it has taken to feel like that? I have NEVER felt in the position of "we will be ok" until now. 32 years of botherin! x
Jesus christ. I should have stuck to my beliefs, not to converse with anyone that uses the abbreviation 'lol'. Especially a bloke.
I think its a good thing for Newcastle that people think they'll struggle. They've suffered for years from over expectation, mostly from their own fans but a dose of reality is much needed. I think Blackburn, Norwich, QPR will drop through the trap door.
whats the problem with using LOL. Honestly though, its in a national paper, if Newcastle fans do the opposite, and vote for us, we will have the most votes (they have more fans) Newcastle will have 2nd most votes, rest of the coutry will laugh at us as they think everyone in the country sees us as favourites for the drop, when its just a few idiots from both clubs voting for each other to go down. and Commachio done the same as me, Sunderland Supporter, voted for Norwich, but not a peep to him, it was all aimed at me. I just dont think Newcastle will go down, and i am not a hypcrite, I do think Wigan will, so i voted for them, I just cant see the big ****ing deal tbh.
