Great beginning with 2 of the 3 winning at very nice prices. Tiger Roll had been crying for this kind of trip for a while now and Gordon bided his time with him, good training performance and good ride by Lisa.

BD stepped up on his latest promising run too and a clever move to win the top 2 miler by all connected to the horse.

Bunk Off Early I misread totally and he didn't run at all how I envisaged.

Can't ask for much better though...see if I can nab one or two more at HQ for the week now to keep me ticking over.

Gold Present 2nd got me somewhat out of jail there - the placed horses have saved me from a right roasting today. Should've gone each way on Petit Mouchoir really. I live to fight another day <ok>

Just been watching the replays and cannot believe Singlefarmpayment has not won FFS.

Pleased to hear that Edwulf may not be as bad as he looked.

Triumph being over 2m is very misleading- look at some of the winners/placed horses from that of yesteryear:

-Zarkandar (Winner, 2011- stayers hurdle placed 2015)
-Tiger Roll (Winner 2014- won 4 miler 2017)
-Apples Jade (2nd Triumph 2016- won Mares over 2m4f 2017)
-Top Notch (2nd 2015, running over 2m 4f JLT Chase this week)

Of course some years you get genuine 2 milers running well/winning it, none more so than the late, brilliant Our Conor.

They say it's a right old test on the new course and it is no surprise that very few show the pace to win Champion Hurdles the following year. I'd say that'd more important than the age stat.

I was within my rights to abandon him after backing him the last day and at laytown. I have feeling I backed him in England aswell but I couldn't be sure. Delighted Jack Kennedy though.

One placed in every race bar the unfortunate Edwulf(hopefully he'll be ok) and one winner. A nice profit from the ew lucky 63.

    Nice work.

I couldn't blame ya for leaving him today...

Labaik had the form and potential there to win what looked an average renewal, it's just you could not trust him to go. The use of the whip at the start in England helped as we can't use them in Ireland to start. People may feel sour or have ill regard for it but he did the exact same thing on the flat. A good horse won an average race. Elliot said previously that nothing can live with him at home so that says all you need to know.
