I'm sorry to keep picking on your posts of late WP but this particular line does my tits in. I don't know whether it's because of how good he was in the champ/last season (minus the few games you mentioned) but people seem to conveniently forget that he was gash in his first couple of seasons for us (including the one where we went down) I don't buy that loyalty bollocks, in my opinion he stayed because nobody came in for him because he didn't show the quality he has of late, maybe that was due to him adapting to the premier league or because teams already had adequate LB's who knows. I agree with the rest of your posts though.

I'm just annoyed also about the whole leave for European football bullshit line that he spun, then subsequently jumped ship to Liverpool, who are in the same boat as us this season (couldn't give a **** what they're predicted to do this season coming, or where they might finish) fact is they are in the same boat as us and could just as easily have a ****ing terrible start to the season as a blistering one. Same as us.

Also the staying silent and not stating his intentions, if he'd have said vocally that he had wanted to leave then I'd still be miffed but not as much. Just feel like as well as mismanagement from those above he's ****ed us about by stating he'd sign if we were still in premier league / end of season / when new players sign etc...

The only thing i dont like about this saga is the fact jose was silent throught and lied to the fans. He said as soon as we were safe he would look at signing a new contract, he decided to let it sit on the table to see if there was intrest elsewhere. His rant against the club saying we offered him the same money last year implies he wanted more than the 50' we offered him. Its annoyin when you consider we risked a lot signing him for 6m and he didnt start to play well until he was in the championship, he had a great season last year and now hes left the club 20 times better than he was when he joined and his clear ambition to leave meant we had no choice but to accept a rubbish offer because he was going to leave regardless. The club has a right to feel used, we made jose the player he is, 2 years ago no club wanted him and he was happy to be here now as soon as a big club are intrested hes off. Hes no chiek tiote!

Exactly. For all of the great service he did give us, the way he lied, kept silent to the fans, had his Twitter outburst and eventually buggered off is just total disrespect towards the fans. When the player doesn't show respect to us, I will show no respect to him.

If he had came out early, publicly stated he wanted to go and then moved on as early as possible, I wouldn't mind. However, he's just left Pardew and the fans in the lurch until the last minute before buggering off.

He didn't act in a way which showed any appreciation or respect for the club which took him in and made him the player he is today.

    Lied ? What ?

He said he would talk about a new contract when we were safe. The new contract was for the same money whereas he wanted a raise. Where do you see a lie in that ?

He obviously thinks exactly the same about Mr Ashley as most of us do and was unwise enough to once say so on Twitter. Shouldn't be done, of course, but he was at least stating the truth.

As for staying silent, what is he supposed to say ? Promise eternal devotion and then leave like Carroll ? Or say I want to leave cause the club and it's ownership has no ambition and be fined 2 weeks wages ?

He said he was waiting to sign a new contract until the club were safe. He made no mention of the real reason being that he wanted more money. He lied to the fans who were originally expecting him to move forward with talks once we were safe. In reality, it seems that he never had any intention of staying, even if he WAS given a raise.

And further damaging the reputation of the club in the process, condemning us to get more relegation predictions and making it more difficult for us to sign players who think we're a 'club in turmoil'.

Saying he wants to leave for more ambition is NOT the same as saying that the club has no ambition, slating his employers and speaking about very sensitive contractual matters.

As Pardew has also stated, Enrique didn't even speak to him or make clear exactly what he wanted to do. Him and his agents just stayed quiet and created a big headache for everyone.

Don't pick on people's posts and then say something like this.

Liverpool will probably finish top 5 - Europe.

    Newcastle.. won't.

Picked a line out of the post and then explained why I don't agree, incase you missed it, it was about "sticking with us through hard times out of loyalty" which is ****e, as he like many others was pap that season as already explained by me and others on the thread.

And they could just as easily not and not get into Europe, which is the point I'm making. Thus making all his talk of "leaving for European football" a complete crock of ****!

I wouldn't boo or cheer him personally. The ultimate reason he's gone is to get into the Spain squad. Yes he said CL football is what he needed to get that, but with Liverpool being very well known in Spain due to their recent past with Alonso, Torres and Benitez combined with the fact that Liverpool will be playing minimum of EUROPA League and a strong chance of CL football next season (I think they'll finish top 4) he will get into the Spain squad. He's moving for ambition. Completely different to Carroll who went purely out of greed after one and a half seasons playing for us.

Yes in an ideal world he would have gone to Barca or Bayern (both paper talk, nothing more), but Liverpool have strengthened and have two of the best strikers around at the moment and have a very good chance of silverware and European football then Jose will get the recognition he craves and called up to the Spain squad.

We will sign a new LB, hopefully soon and hopefully Pieters (even Ashley isn't dumb enough to leave us without a LB) and still have a strong side.

Adios Jose, I for one won't feel ashamed wearing the 'Jose Enrique' home shirt I have from last season. You're ambitous, our owners aren't.

Do you generally think that you have as much chance as Liverpool to get into a European comp. next season?

I know they 'might' not, but they have a better chance of doing so, which is why he has gone for Liverpool.

EDIT - Though I would find it funny if you got into Europe next season though a cup :D

He has also come out today and said he had hoped the transfer was going to go through last January. This after he said he would wait to see if we would sign new players and stayed up, before deciding if he would leave or not. The guy's unbelievably stupid, disrespectful and a liar.

he said he would sign when the club was safe and he let the deal sit on the table he didnt reject it he let it sit there to see if other clubs wanted him, therefor the fact he said i will sign when we are safe is a lie. pardew said we offered him a better deal and jose said it was the same money i bet MA offered jose a similar deal but with huge performance related performances obviously jose didnt want that.

if jose had any intention of not signing a deal, which he certainly did, he should of just said when the season is over i will look at my options, but he didnt he said he would sign then deleted twitter probably so he wouldnt have to deal with the fans no more.

fans and managers appreciated honest if jose had said look i am happy here and grateful you signed me when i was unknow but i would like to move to a better club for more money and better opertunitys then this would of been sorted months ago! the fact is he lied to the fans, stalled on his deal and publically voiced his frustration, thus weakning our bargaining chip meanin we have to accept a **** offer for him. one good season in the prem and he does one and leaves the club in the lurch a few days before kick off for the new season!

people talk about no ambition but thats not the case mike wants us to be succsful as he sees us as a business making europe is a very hard thing to do it took man city about 300m to make the top four! mike is doing things the right way hes sorting out the finance then buying young cheap inexpensive players and building stars, the problem is mike probably has a ten year plan where as the players only have short careers and dont want to waste them playing for a team which is acheiving success slowly when they can move to a team who will pay twice as much and are building for the future more rapidly! look at liverpool stupidly in debt and needing to make europe this year just to pretty much stay afloat! they have splashe out stupidly and that excites players. rest assured if liverpool dont acheive in the next few years enrique carrol etc will be off to a better club. we cant afford to take the risks man city, liverpooll and chelsea can because we dont have the income they have. contray to popular opinion we cant blame mike for jose leaving, thos of you who think we should of offered jose more shoud get real if we broke the pay structure to keep him it wont be long till other players will get upset and feel under valued. in my opinion we dont owe jose a thank you, he stayed with us in the championship when noone wanted him and he was earning stupid amount a week! well thank ****ing you for that, as soon as hes playing well in the prem he leaves! i dont blmae him all players are pretty much the same, its all about money **** ambition, money talks first any old owner can bullshit you about there ambition but you cant bullshit about a big fat cheque!

I didn't think Liverpool had qualified for Europe at all?

I don't see how playing down the road for Liverpool will improve his chances of playing for Spain - will his move affect the form of the players currently keeping him out?
