Even if the EU accepted Scotland alone into the club (highly questionable given the precedent it sets for Spain and Catalonia) , Scotland will be obliged to join the Euro as all new members must. Are the Scots really going to buy into this? If they do, good luck to them. It'll save the rest of the UK subsidising them

Yes, I heard Salmon 'fish face' say the same. Problem is with the Scots, is they want everything for nothing. Let's see how mouthy they are when we take away the jobs, the subs, and the £15b+ we pump into the country. Agree with Teresa Mayhem about playing politics.
Another thing that irks me is the Scots that work and live in England yet still moan. Take Sean Connery who has made a great living from this country. Does he actually live in Scotland?

Sturgeon doesn't speak for Scotland, she speaks for the minority who voted to leave the UK

Do stop remoaning the lot of you. They want to Brexit the UK and they had a much ****ing bigger majority than the UK did in the Summer. The fact that it might be a disaster for them and for us is secondary:emoticon-0136-giggl

I not a remoaner, I am a brextard. If the Scots want out of the UK then bye bye.
The thing that made me laugh was Salmond saying England would want to do a good deal with Scotland if they left yet a few weeks ago he was saying that the EU wouldn't want to do a good deal with the UK if they left the EU? That's the sort of idiot the Scots have.

Salmond is quite happy to use one set of arguments when it suits his purpose and then use the complete opposite when it also suits him. The same applies to almost everyone in Parliament right now. They aren't being idiots - not Salmond, not May, not Davis, esp. not Johnson. They think the voters are idiots, and that they'll get away with it.

May should allow the rest of the UK to vote as well
Do you want to keep Scotland as part of the UK
Wonder if the answer would be as close as brexit

A bit like May telling the Scots that they would be foolish to break away from their biggest trading partner?

The similarities between the UK voting for Brexit and Scotland (potentially) voting for independence are obvious. I don't see how Scotland can then get EU membership afterwards, as it will require Spain to approve their membership and Spain sees the benefits in Catalunia being part of Spain and not going for their own independence. However, like the UK leaving the EU, Scotland might feel independence from England/Wales/NIreland is now a better option - despite the financial risks it brings - even if they are not in the EU. What next? Irish union?

The Conservatives will probably see the loss of Scotland as no loss at all. Politically they are dead in Scotland. What better way could there be for resolving their political problem than by allowing Scotland to drift away? It may not be in the interests of the people of the UK, but it's certainly in the interests of the Conservatives increasing the proportion of seats they hold in a smaller Parliament.

It's still all about regime change for a single political party and not about acting in our best interests.

Troll, the UK (England/Scotland) is different from the UK/EU. It is a union of 2 countries that are combined differently to say England - Hungary.
To be honest (and we all know this) if it was sunny outside you would say it's cloudy just because that's you. I'm surprised you are not Trump bashing at the moment?

Sorry Dipper i didn't see your post before replying to Troll.

I would like Scotland to stay as part of the UK because we are entwined in many ways but make no bones about it, they are on course that will make them worse off. The SNP are not interested in the people, they are just doing this for political reasons. I heard Salmond this morning on the business channel not being able to answer simple questions re EU/Nato/boarders. It's different for us because we can stand up for ourselves and although leaving the EU may cause problems to begin with, we will bounce back. I really feel for the Scots because those idiots are playing games with their future.
