At 35 i'm surprised they've not released him tbh, although the Leicester fans say he had a good pre-season and can still cut it at this level. I think we'd be silly not to go for him (wages dependent of course). Although given that we've already got big Dele, and only space for 5 subs on the bench i can't see it happening.
I can't really understand why we didn't go for him in the first place, he'd have been a far better bet than Adebola. We've got kids all over the pitch, but we would end up with three ageing strikers in Adebola 36, Howard 35 and Barmby 37. Seems unlikely as a consequence.
Unless McLean wont be back in a hurry or Dele has an injury nobody is telling us about. Other than injury No Thanks. Look for better and younger ones.
I've been banging on about signing him since it became obvious in July 2010 that we had no physical presence up front whatsoever. I can't imagine we'd want him and Adebola though. I like Adebola but I think Howard at his best is a bigger goal threat. That said, surely if he rated him, NP would have gone in for him in the summer? Howard was linked with Sheff Weds last season so it's been obvious for a while that his time at Leicester is limited.
I think everyone thought he would be coming, seemed like pure stubborness on NP's part not to go for him but stick with and pay money for Mclean, fukin awful decision.

Just read the paper here and Sven is quoted saying Howard is already in talks with a club about a loan move. Probably not us mind

I agree with OLM, i would have had Howard instead of Adebola before the start of the season. He is a tad quicker and already has a partnership with Fryatt, no brainer is it.........or is it!!??!!
dont think he is the type of forward we will go for unless dele is out for a while if we bring another forward in i would expect it to be someone with pace
Dont get why people hate mclean so much, you want to sign strikers to provide fryatt with chances but not scoremuch, mclean scores more and is great in the air and at creating chances, yet because hes quick people moan, he'll score way more goals in a season than howard and adebola.
