Came on here to see your thoughts on yesterdays game and all I found was found was Millwall supporters, food and drink digression and homo erotica.
Welcome to our forum.... Yesterdays game was lacklustre and forgettable. Not much more to say really.
Ok going to try and do a sensible football type post - my ratings were as follows:- Green 8 - didn't have loads to do but kept us in it when needed and handled solidly all game. Ayling 6 - looked like someone who had lost some sleep this week. Always showed for the ball but unusually for him his first touch was shocking at times. Bartley 5 - looked like someone who shares a house with Ayling - nothing shocking just very lethargic (suspect Fulhams last second equaliser may have knocked the stuffing out of him). Jannson 6 - just Jannson. Viking warrior in the tackle when needed. Loads of really bad injuries that he miraculously recovered from. Tried one shimmy when one on one with their striker that could have cost us more than the resulting throw in. Berardi 6 - bulldog, shame he's not more of a gifted bulldog. Roofe 5 - full of effort and kept coming inside to influence the game, just not enough about him to be a game changer at this level. Bridcutt 8 - did what Bridcutt does. Hustled, harried, won the ball, gave the ball away, hustled, harried won it back again. Viera 6 - did what Viera does on an off day, hustled, harried, gave the ball away. Pedraza 7 - for the first twenty five minutes looked better quality and what we had hoped to be signing. After that like a lot of Johnny Foreigner new boys looked like he struggled to stay with the pace of the English game. Hernandez 5 - tried to be silky and make things happen but when it's not working for him he looks lightweight and lost. Wood 6 - tried to make runs and did nothing wrong, just starved of anything to feed off. Subs Sacko 5 - why oh why does someone that can run like a whippet never ever knock the ball past a fullback and try a quick cross? Would create many more corners and throw ins allowing pressure to build. O'Kane 5 - mixes in with things, turns on a sixpence then runs out of ideas. Doukarra 5 - looks like the big kid at school that no one wants to pick on their side but is still a nuisance to play against. Monk 7 - put out a decent side on paper and left out Taylor just to please Eire. Put on all three subs in quick succession to try and liven things up - just didn't happen. If we could add Cairney, Mooy and Izzy Brown (or players of that ilk) to what we have we could be dominant in many more games. Would that be too much to ask of our new owner in the summer if we are serious about really having a go next year (on the assumption that we will likely fall short this year)?
We have too many players who are out of sorts at the moment. Earlier in the season O'Kane could not put a foot wrong. Roofe is one of those nearly players, and was probably one of the bet players on the pitch that day along with Taylor. Bartley has played more games than any other outfield player for us. He has missed one league game. Shame we did not strengthen in January. I bet he's knackered
The three behind Wood are a major problem in the lack of goals and chances they are creating, it is a case of should be doing better. Bridcutt and O'Kane for me are the best pairing, chopping and changing with Philips and Vieira isn't working. I also believe bookings hanging over players is in the back of some minds. We play Sacko and his pace scares them but 45min in the opposition realise he has no end product. We play Dallas he offers cover, can cross the ball but cut that cross out and he has nothing else to offer. I think we are talking very fine margins between looking a good "team" and looking dire, 1 or 2 changes in the starting 11 and the balance is gone.
It was nice thanks mate and we only had to pay for the extras which were the bottle of prosecco, water & the 2 sides that didn't come with my steak main as the steak comes on its own. We got 3 courses and a cocktail on the red letter.
