Never mind footballers, why should a film star act like a "film star"? They're only actors.
The culture of celebrity has led to whole groups of people thinking they are somehow above the rest, and sadly too many of the rest buy into the myth.
They're all just people.

 

Epitomised by the "D" list celeb..get their fanny out..or be a rich kid and sit around bars ..or now not rich kid and sit around bars...celebrity isn't even about having a certain skill anymore...it's just....being there...sorry no...get fanny out and get photographed...get fat and get photographed...hire personal trainer get not so fat, talk about not being fat...release a workout video...get drunk repeatedly again, show fanny and....get fat....and photographed...

 

Who do you blame, the people who make a fortune doing this or the thick, sad twats that follow every move they make on "reality TV" etc.
All you have to do is go to the pub or watch actual real people and it's much more interesting and educational.

 

Well..it has to be a mix doesn't it...the sad ****s who think they're are cool and the rest or us who think they're a car crash..it's all clicks to the publishers..

It's why I refuse to open anything with a Kardashian, Towie Chelsea thing story..it's a click and therefore encouragement.

Unless..it's a story about how they've been bottled to death...still praying for the beiber version of that story

 

And at the risk of crossing threads...Trump is the culmination of this ****.

 

We want our football heroes to be idols we can admire and respect. Yet we don't want them to act like film stars, to behave as if they are nothing special and be part of us. But whose fault is it?

They earn many millions of pounds a year. Several times more than most people earn in their whole careers. Just like the film stars.

Every move outside the pitch is scrutinised. They are photographed constantly and they have many articles written about them. Just like film stars.

They earn millions outside the club commitments, endorsing products. Just like film stars.

To be known as a celebrity you used to have to have a talent, these days many of the 'celebrities' are known for nothing other than being errrmmm celebrities. I'm thinking of no marks like Callum Best, Bianca Gascoigne and that ilk of twat. Then you've got the no mark reality stars, go jump off a ****ing cliff the lot of you.

 

It could all be salvaged if Big Brother turned into The Hunger Games...I'd watch that...
