If it is true, then I think he'd lead the line extremely well, assuming that Redknapp can get his head on straight. Focus him on showing Real that they really do need him and get him playing at 100% for the whole season. Arsenal fans may hate him now, but it'll increase dramatically if this goes through.

I suppose it depends upon two things, whether they're concerned about the financial fairplay rules and whether they still regard Spurs as serious rivals for a league position. There was an article on here the other day regarding the possibility of City manipulating the league by loaning players to teams that they didn't see as rivals. That would make those teams harder for their rivals to beat, but easier for them to, as the players couldn't play against them.
well summed up PNP. - also the fact that they've got what they wanted as we now no longer occupy that CL place that they wanted so desperately. In addition to this, they are continuing to invest ridiculously in their squad. some players have to move on, even if it's to us.
Because Arsenal are run realistically and City aren't? £20m+ for a player with one year left on his contract is too good a deal to turn down for a club that actually has to consider it's finances. City's loan of Bellamy to Cardiff last year would suggest that they don't run by the same rules as everyone else.

Because Nasri will not sign a new contract and therefore has to go. Also £22 Million for a player that is free next summer is some deal. If City was on the other side of this deal then they can let Nasri go for free and keep him for a year. We are not in that position.
Arsenal don't seem to mind strengthening City though, SW6. City have made it perfectly clear in the past that they don't feel the same way about teams that they're feel they're competing for places with.
Hopefully this stops all the Grabatelli jokes... However, I still don't think Adebayor is the missing link, not least because of his history of attitude problems. If he did sign, he might be on his best behaviour for a while - like Mido was - but at the end of the day you don;t expect he'd join us permanently at the end of his loan anyway.
If he plays as well as he can for a season, then it might be good enough for both of us though, Croydon. He might finally get his permanent move to Real and we'd be in a decent position and know the kind of player that we need to bring in.
I addressed this point in the old thread. Obviously, his reputation for being a pain in the arse, goes before him. My point was, that surely even he has to grow up some day. It must surely occur to him, unless he's totally stupid and/or deluded, that he's running out of options, fast. One more bust up, at yet another club, and he could find that nobody at all, wants him.
