I'd probably have to become a vegetarian. The only animals i have killed are fish (i quick sharp biff over the head) and a seagull when i threw a load of chips on a main road. The guilt still haunts me to this day.

Yeah me too - I would have to live off fish as I, for some reason, have no problem smacking a trout over the head - but a little sneaky rat I caught (after it had taken lumps from my 10 foot shed and a massive amount of expensive decking - I couldn't bring myself to kill it!! Work that one out

Back then I could handle the killing of the fish. It was the line getting tangled or snapped and the '**** this I cant be arsed to set up yet again', as I throw my rod to the ground in a huff, that would prevent me from surviving on fish. Oh, that reminds me, I was also quite partial to impaling and repeatedly dunking worms into cold water until they would drown. They were very rarely put out of their misery by a passing fish on my watch.

Have to say I was the same!! (Although worms can survive underwater almost indefinitely!!)

(earthworms) if there is a high concentration of oxygen flowing through the water they will survive quite happily, if not two weeks at the most as they breath through their skin, maggots perish very quickly underwater. tight lines

I reckon I could catch fish no bother if I could fashion an improvised line out of foraged materials.

I think I'd do ok, surviving in some rural British climate countryside.

Put me in Namibia and I'd see one Puff Adder and **** myself to death.

Here in north norfolk its no problem as we are surrounded by natures larder ,also the mind set difference from a rural background as opposed to a inner city one is worlds apart ,and as i know it works quite the opposite the other way round.
