And we'll all be wearing jet packs..... But seriously, yeah, one day. And maybe with unlimited power and computation power comes with time travel? Why not? We know that particles hop back and forth through time, and they 'borrow' future energy during quantum tunnelling. I think, in a few hundred years time, if we were to drop into 2317 we'd be just as bewildered at what was going on as much as someone from 1719 being transported to now. As Louis (Armstrong, not Suarez) said - what a wonderful world.
Given the rate of change and development it may be more akin to traveling from the 1400's to today. Still, I always get a little skeptical on any article that appears to break "known laws", like particles travelling faster than light, waiting to see if it's another "measurement" error. He also said Hello Dolly which was pretty prophetic predicting the rise in cloning.
I don't think you can travel faster than light, but with that much potential energy maybe you can warp spacetime and create wormholes. Or maybe we could nip into adjacent dimensions and come back into ours in a different place (and time)? Maybe we could go far enough into the future to see Liverpool winning the Prem? Or even Everton winning another trophy? Nah... science fiction.
Our ancestors probably snogged Neanderthals. #zingywould It's long been knowledge that they mated with Neanderthals and genetic information was passed, but that was explained as potentially rape. Now by studying plaque on the teeth of Neanderthals they have discovered evidence of bacteria that evolved in humans after they split from their Neanderthal common ancestor. Only way the bacteria moves between people is by exchange of saliva, so kissing or sharing a meal. There is also evidence Neanderthals used Penicillium mould to treat themselves (the mould that we discovered penicillin from) and used trees for painkillers (salicylic acid... Asprin is traditionally taken from willows).
If I recall correctly, the effects of gravity is instantaneous: The earth is pulled to where the sun is now, not to where it was however many seconds ago it takes to travel to the sun at speed of light.
So why can we not (not sure on word I'm looking for here) manipulate gravity? To say it's impossible is niave in my opinion. Just we are not advanced enough to understand our capabilities.
We will never be able to violate the laws of physics the best we can hope for is that there are some loopholes we can exploit.
But I don't understand how you came to that reasoning. Just because we don't know how to, why can't we? It's like saying time travel is impossible, well who knows give it 100 yrs and we could be. Then what for everyone saying impossible. We don't understand how to do something is not reasoning for saying it's impossible.
Could a MOD kindly change the title of this thread to "The Science Behind RHC's Bites", because no ****er knows what it is yet
Exactly. Thank you donga. So the equation only works in our universe that we know of but beyond that we are ****ing clueless.
