Not Doo Wop but one of the great vocal performances of popular music of a stunning song. Simply perfect, joyous and moving. I love it.
I'm not a great fan of Queen, the odd great but mostly Brian May's guitar drives me insane. Freddie Mercury was a great front man but he should have left this alone. It's perfect. Love it.
Stunning. And for him to die in such a stupid, senseless way (not to mention suspicious) is heart-breaking.
I understand it had personal significance to him. He was hiding a big dark secret and so released the song. This is a more fitting way to remember him
Beautiful. I'm a big fan of this belter. Lou Rawls voice is ever so slightly behind Sam Cooke which was a trick used by ABBA and The Beatles amongst others to give a great effect. They used multi-tracking whereas this features another sensational soul voice echoing Sam Cooke's.
For all you punk/Doo Wop crossover fans.....SLF with Barbed Wire Love.....they played it at Rebellion last Summer and the car park went crazy...
