my worry is it'll be hard to pass as braking is not not a factor (bar brake fade late on) and the aero means we coudl see guys just saying can't get closer than 2 seconds on the radio but we will see.
Yeah I'm not sure the tech regs this year are appropriate for encouraging "natural" overtaking, but at least the look and speed of the cars is better. I don't expect Ross to take long getting his feet under the table before we start to see early suggestions on the next aero formula. But I don't think we'll see it for several years as I back Ross to try and get it "right" and give us a set of regs that can last for ten years.
Does anyone know the regs regarding PU components this year? I realise they are allowed 4 PUs and 3 gearboxes but what about components? i.e. triggers broom? (for those that don't know it's an Only Fools and Horses ref).
I was thinking about say replacing a turbo or a battery. I assume they are only allowed 4 of each component during the 2017 season? If they exceed 4 units what are the penalties this year as I have a feeling McHonda will be having a few penalties.
How much of the units are sealed, such that any internal components of the MGU-k's, engines and gearboxes cannot be fixed if there is a major failure. I don't think there is an issue with ancillary components, though not sure whether they treat the turbo as part of the engine, so a failure would result in an engine change and not just a turbo replacement. I think Trigger's broom probably wouldn't happen if there are sealed elements that cannot be changed for 'free'.
Ricciardo has blown the lid of red bull situation. He just thinks they are off the pace. I think we have a straight shoot out between vettel and hamilton by the look of things. Bottas.. meh..
in a two horse race 6/1 is ok but it is ferrari... and i am worried they will contrive to tactically **** it up. Since brawn left i have not seen a real race strategist out fighting another team there.
To stop the forum being clogged up with McLaren related posts, here is a website that will keep you all updated on what is happening with them. https://www.hasmclarenbrokendown.com/
They've got an ingenious plan. If they cause so many red flags that nobody else can test, they can't fall further behind.
please log in to view this image Maybe we will see these flags? And look they are in Mclaren colours!! It was meant to be!
