  2. Some Arsenal fans may turn up "wanting us to win", says Lincoln defender Luke Waterfall before their FA Cup quarter-final at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

    Utterly shocking!

    Not really.
A real Arsenal fan wants what is best for the club.
An FA Cup win may keep Wenger and that **** house crew of board members at the club.
If a defeat makes Wenger leave, then I would be rooting for it as an Arsenal fan too.

i dont see how any Arsenal fan can be pro Wenger at this stage.
Sacrifice the battle to win the war.

Had a look on the Arsenal board for first time in months (I was banned for having the audacity to suggest they weren't the self-styled 'best run club in England', using their lack of commercial revenue as an example.)

Anyway, saw PISKIE post this (Feb 4). Am truly shocked he has betrayed AW...'Wenger's time as a manager who can win the title is done. It's a case of making sure we replace him with somebody who can now.'

  6. Agreed, that is a dreadful betrayal from Wenger's staunchest supporter on this forum.

Pixie is trying to make out that he's always said that Wenger should go, but we all know that that is a load of bollocks. He's banned tons of posters for daring to say that Wenger is no longer good enough.

I'm not wumming, I'm merely making it clear that I am disgusted with this kind of back-stabbing.

How does he revamp the squad before the end of the season? Have they got several world class players in their academy?

Actually, I said that I'd held the view for a couple of years that he should be replaced if we can find somebody better.

I'm not opposed to replacing him, I just want to make sure we do it properly rather than on the back of fan frustration and end up appointing a Turkey.

This is a ridiculous fence sitting exercise that some Arsenal fans have used in the last couple of years to try and set them apart from the more militant Wenger out Brigade.

its goes without saying that should he go, your aim will be able to appoint someone decent to replace him.
Not sure why some Arsenal fans feel they need to make this distinction. I don't think for one second, even the most militant Anti-Wengerite is saying that they should oust him because they want someone **** to take his place for a laugh.
Is that what you think people like A87 have been saying?

Whomever you appoint will be a risk! Scolari had a great record when he came to Chelsea, he was ****, AVB too.
There is no way of knowing for sure if someone will be a success until he is given a crack at the job.
You can interview him, get a feeling for his methods and decide whether he feels like a good fit or not, but surely every managerial appointment in football history has been made because they felt like a good fit.

I agree that sacking him mid season is not preferable, but he has been there 20 years and has been **** for 10 of those years. Thats 10 summers your board has had to sack him and plan a thorough and proper search for an adequate replacement.

Wenger's problem from day one has been that he's in the Premier with a club with a financial conscience .
Wenger could have done the same or even better job with Man City , Man U and Chelsea under the same circumstances
Arsenal would have went through the span of the Premier League with a whimper without him IMO

Point being that some people were saying we should have replaced him with, amongst others. Owen Coyle, Harry Redknapp, Roberto Martinez and Fat Sam. That is exactly why I make the point that there is absolutely no point in replacing him unless we do so with somebody who has got CL experience and has won titles.

I don't think anyone credible, or sensible, has made those suggestions.
Even if they did, I don't think the Arsenal board would have took them seriously

You'd be surprised. Some people were absolutely serious when advocating Owen Coyle and Roberto Martinez. And that's the point I'm making, unlike Utd who basically took a punt on Moyes, who let's not forget, had zero CL experience and zero title winning experience, I am advocating that Arsenal should appoint a manager who has both of these attributes, if not, then there is no point in getting rid of Wenger.

You must've been fuming when they brought him in, then.
Relegated Nancy, sacked by Monaco, despite winning a couple of trophies, then did ok with Grampus Eight in Japan.
I suspect you wouldn't be happy with a similar appointment. Probably understandably, too.
