Didier Deschamps believes that there could be issues between Poch and Sissoko I don't know where Deschamps could be getting that idea from, after all look at Poch's response when he heard the transfer had been completed... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Our scouting has been pretty poor recently, so not surprised they've gone. Our best signings under Mitchell's tenure have generally been domestically acquired and you don't need to be the world's best scout to know Toby, Vic and Tripps are good players when they've already proven themselves in the Prem. Alli was spotted by Pleat. Wimmer is the only foreign signing during Mitchell's tenure to have been a success, I don't include Son as he was on our radar while at HSV, let alone Leverkusen. That leaves Janssen, Nkoudou, Njie and Sissoko (who every Spurs fan could've told you wouldn't fit in) as failures and some costly ones at that. As for youth signings, we haven't signed a young player who's yet to progress into the first team during Webb's tenure (unless you count Alli, who like I've already said was down to Pleat) and if he was responsible for turning down the likes of Isak and Dembele then it's hardly surprising he's gone too.
Now, who was it he played for in England? Surely no connection and an attempt to destabilise a rival......
When I hear he has issues with Kane, Alli or Alderweireld, I will worry. This doesn't bother me so much.
"I know what'll help my former employers, I'll try and drive a wedge between their manager and a player who is mainly used as a late substitute!" What's the worst case scenario there, exactly? Marcus Edwards getting in the matchday squad instead?
Mitchell was always on borrowed time with Levy. When you have Pleat who judges a footballer on what he sees by going to games, as against Mitchell who has probably never seen a "live" game in his life, yet is able to judge a player on watching TV games, playing FM games, living and breathing misleading stats, etc etc, then you can see why Levy will always prefer a Pleat type scout. As for Webb, he has been gone a week now and like Mitchell, will not be missed.
This year's 'Tapping Up Trophy' is awarded to................Pep Guardiola “I would like English players because they know the league and that is much better,” he said. “I am really impressed with how many good English players your country has. Tottenham players, the English players are all amazing. His attempt to tap all of our English players in one fell swoop was an act of 'rich club' genius. However, they may find it cheaper to buy the whole club than just those players. It also doesn't sort out their rubbish goalkeeper....central defence.....central midfield...
Walker, Rose and Alli according to the hacks. See my previous post for a measured and rational response...
Oh great. So half of the next Pochettino press conference will be wasted by that plank-ton oxygen thief press hack trying to get something quotable on this.
Plus give the money we wasted on Adebayor (which they indirectly caused by paying him inflated merc wages in the first place) .
Sure, that can happen. All Manchester City need to do is stump up £800million (or however much the stadium is costing today) up front in hard cold cash and they can have all three. Hey, we're feeling generous we will even throw in Sissoko as freebie as a goodwill gesture.
Great news! Hopefully we can get Tripps down to a new one too, gotta be two of the best second choice full backs around.
Poch with tie, but possibly top button not done up. OS won't like that! Good news about the signing though! TalkShite to take the piss later no doubt, they normally do when we sign one of our own players (which in often better than bringing someone in IMHO).
It's almost worth calling in and asking them about Ibrahimovich's contract status come the end of the season...
I'd prefer to see Alderweireld signing one, to be honest. Trippier's decent and I think he'd suit our current system, but Walker-Peters is coming through and needs games soon. A loan might be a better option for him, but we don't seem to be doing that for players we intend to keep any more.
Sun claiming that Bale has "told Real Madrid to sign Dele Alli if they sell Ronaldo". They also say Barcelona and Man City want to sign him. Obviously they had no space to mention he actually on a long term contract at spurs and has never said he is interested in a move let alone demanded one and the only key players we have sold was due to them demanding a move (Carrick, Keane, Berbatov) or where we have made a deal for them to sign a new contract and agreed to sell them when they made it clear they wanted to go if we don't qualify for the top 4 (Modric and Bale ).
What makes it even more laughable is, at the same time the papers are saying that all Los Ladrones have to do is click their fingers and Dele Alli will come running, those same papers are reporting that Eden Hazard is committed to Chelsea and will not try and force a move to the Santiago Burgerbun. Here's my question: as sport.es has reported that Los Ladrones are looking to sign Hazard to replace Isco and/or James Rodriguez, shouldn't we grease the wheels to help them land the player that Zidane has publicly admired on several occasions? After all, just think how good Hazard could become if he joins a massive club like Los Ladrones?
