Disko has entries for the RSA and JLT but is likely going to be in the JLT Drever. Our Duke isn't going to Cheltenham. Being held for Punchestown this year and they believe he will give the Gold Cup a good go in 2018.
The County is an absolute minefield though I've been sent the following stat: 23/24 of recent festival winners in non novice handicap hurdles were rated 134 - 149. Of the current entrants that rules out no.s 1-5 and everything from 72 onwards. So in summary any fooking thing can win it. I've sponged Stick's Vosne Romanee ew and if it's good ground on the day and he lines up I'll punt a few quid on ol boy Court Minstrel.
Re that Imperial Cup / Cheltenham double the one that I wouldn’t want to dismiss is Max Du Brazil. He arrived from across The Channel for a tidy sum and although he disappointed on debut, for the old rogues, was very well backed in the morning that day. Has plenty of options next week as well. Looks Interesting with a capital ‘I’.
Racing Post reports that Mr. Henderson will NOT be running his filly Daphne du Clos in the Champion Bumper. "We've simply decided that she's not going to cope with it, and she'll sit still for a while now," explained Henderson. "We're going to run Claimantakinforgan in the race."
Hargam has been taken out of the ‘Daddy’ Martin race so if he heads to the Festival it will either be for the ‘County’ or ‘Coral Cup’. Those bookie chappies are seemingly indicating it will be the former rather than the latter as since my last post he’s shortened for the Friday race (now best priced at 28’s) and lengthened for the Wednesday heat (50’s). Still think he is on a corking mark right now.
Just reading Lydia his lops ante post festival portfolio , of the 13 selections 9 are NR, this just confirms to me what a mugs game the ante post lark really is Discuss?
Most of what little I have done has gone to pot. Only what I have done since nrnb came into play seem to have chance. All of the following are my dead bets Min - arkle Yorkhill - champion Invitation Only - neptune Anibale fly - jlt Coney Island - rsa Augusta Kate - mares novice Vautour - gc
Not a massive amount mostly tens and twenties. Augusta Kate and Vautour wer the only one's who were less than 12/1 so they would have been decent bets if they ran. What I have left look likely to be good value.
This is pretty much how I see antepost betting for the festival, you take your position on a race and get the price but you also have plenty of losers before they even run. I've not had many bets this year but been down on Thistlecrack, cliffs of Dover and in a positive position on Movewiththetimes and Yanworth.
